As heinous as animal cruelty is, it is a blessing how a cat used up all his 9 lives yet survived 13 horrendous shots to the head from an unthinkable weapon, an air rifle.

The 9 year old domestic cat, named Smokey, left home on September 13 in central Victoria, Australia. By the time the owner found the cat, he also found 13 pellets lodged into the cat’s head.

Even though Smokey shot multiple times in the head, he somehow managed to escape and made it back home three days after his disappearance.

Smokey was taken to the vet and went through a process of removing 11 of the pellets, but two planted into the cat’s face and were too difficult to take out.

He (The Victorian president of the RSPCA, Dr Hugh Wirth) says cruelty towards cats will continue unless community attitudes change.

“One of the biggest problems we’ve got here is firstly the Australian male who believes that cats are of a feminine character, the second problem is that conservationists have condemned the cat as the big killer of native wildlife.”

How can people be so cruel if they don’t like cats don’t bother them they are so innoccent especially at 9 years old they don’t do much damage they are very quiet they just like human company. I’m happy Smokey survived the ordeal.
