On a recent trip to Amsterdam I had 2 days to fill before meeting up with my brother. While looking through a guidebook you can imagine a cat-lovers joy to discover a cat-themed museum. Amsterdam also has a cat-boat (Poezenboot) along one of the canals to serve as a sanctuary for cats. Although I know that cats are often depicted in many forms of art, it hadn’t occurred to me that there might be whole museums dedicated to cats! Here is a list of all the cat museums I could find, in case anyone needs a break from art focusing on religion, war and misery. Going to the Kattenkabinet was certainly a highlight of my trip! Does anyone know of any other cat exhibits or museums out there?
