Do you know when cats and captions became inseparable and eventually evolved into what we call lolcat today? Did you know cat macros or lolcats started way before their appearance on the Internet? They had a secret society that many of us never heard of. In an effort to make lolcat an internet and cultural phenomenon, many cat macros did great things to make this happen. Though today most of us take cats and captions as granted, it is important for us to know this part of lolcat history, so maybe in the future, we will grow a new appreciation for cat macros.
