Though I am skeptical about domesticating wild cats, it does amaze me how much affection a big cat such as this cougar can display to her owner. Nonetheless, it takes years of experience, training and understanding for these cats and big cat owners to reach such degree of trust and relationship. Big cats have very different personalities and dispositions from their cousin domestic cats. They are not suitable pets for most people.
As you can see from the videos below, cougars and domestic cats exhibit many similar characteristics such as purring or even kneading and suckling for those that are taken away from their mother too early after birth.

Jaguars are spotted like leopards or black, and they are really huge (third largest cat species). Probably the person who posted the pic on Flickr confused “jaguar” and “cougar”. I don’t think you can tame a jaguar the way the puma occurs in these videos — unfortunately!
