Tabby Kitty Adopts Bunnies

Three baby bunnies were found around the barn one day. They were taken in by Renee who introduced Puddin’ the tabby to these tiny ones with long ears. John K said “Puddin’ was fascinated by them and smelled and licked them,” as if they were her bunnies. “We are soooo lucky that all our animals get along,” John added.

You are my bunnies now. I take care of you. Licks!

  4. Paul in NC says:

To me, it looks like the cat is TASTING the baby rabbits to determine if they are tasty and edible.

  5. Jill says:

I hope those aren’t Jack rabbits. They need a special diet.

  11. DONNA says:

I HOPE THE MOM IS NOT LOOKING FOR HER CHILDRENNOW-MOTHER BUNNIES LEAVE THE BABIES ALONE DURING THE DAY TO FIND FOOD AND TO FEED HERSELF, BUT ALWAYS STAYS CLOSE IN CASE OF DANGER TO THEM. ITS NICE THAT THE CAT HAS TAKEN TO CARE FOR THEM, BUT BEING WITH THEIR MOM IS THE BEST, THEY NEED TO LEARN FROM THEIR MOTHER. WHOEVER HAS THEM CANNOT PUT THEM OUT IN THE WILD AGAIN, BECAUSE THEY WON’T BE ABLE TO FEND FOR THEMSELVES. SOMETIMES WE SHOULD NOT INTERFERE WITH NATURE, BECAUSE SOMETIMES IT REALLY DOES HARM TO THE ANIMALS.

  19. Jill says:

Is anyone going to update us on these wild rabbits?
Jack rabbit mothers leave their young for most of the day. They do that to distract predators. The babies have no smell on them to keep predators from finding them. The mother comes to feed them once a day.
Someone please give us an update.

  20. I agree with Jill and Donna. The picture may be cute, but taking baby animals from the wild is highly irresponsible. Unless John K knew for certain that the mother had died, he should have left the rabbits where they were.

    they look like each other

  22. Kristin Fiore says:

    So sweet! It’s a wonderful story. :)

  23. Debra Olsen says:

:-) So adorable,,,my three cat’s aren’t bothered by rabbits in the least. They act as though they want the rabbits to play with them & hop around. The rabbits (neighbor’s) just act oblivious to the cats. Very cute, but they are adult rabbits. Not too sure a baby rabbit would elicit the same response.

  24. Like alot of other people have said, I think it’s adorable that they have the same coloring. Could this be one reason the kitty took to them? Then again, maybe she’s never seen herself in a mirror. LOL. Anyway, cute story. I love interspecies friendships/love stories.

  25. Julia says:

    haha they look the same

  26. Francesca Melio says:
