A Cox Communications employee was shocked after he opened a box at work and found two newborn kittens clinging to life inside. "At just a few days old, they were accidentally packed up in a Cox equipment box... They went without food or care for several of the first days of their lives," San Diego Humane Society wrote.

The two kittens were accidentally packed up in a box shipped from the Hollywood to San Diego County.

"They were very, very lucky that they didn’t fall out of it in transport or when we were unloading the truck," JC Collins, Cox Communications employee, said.

"When I first saw them, I knew they were very, very young." Collins contacted his nephew, who works as an investigator with the San Diego Humane Society. "They actually came to us with their umbilical cord still attached," said Jenny Bonomini, a nurse at the San Diego Humane Society.

The kittens were named Mouse and Wifi.

What they think happened was that the mother cat put her new born babies in a safe spot and left. Then the kittens were boxed up and shipped away.

Luckily the little furballs are now in good hands. San Diego Humane Society provides around-the-clock care for the babies. "They're fat and happy! That's nice little fat belly right there," Bonomini said.
