A big guy found a tiny baby kitten while he was looking at a property. “So I guess I’m a mommy, now,” Oklahoma Hoss writes via reddit.

He shares the story: “The place just had a hard rain the night before and the ground was muddy. As we’re standing on what I guess is the floor of a deck that was going to be built, she cocks her head to one side and asks me if I heard something. I tell her no, but she’s got much better hearing than I do.

I head back around the side of the house to check on the car and when I come back she’s holding what think is a wet sock.

I get there and see that it’s a baby kitten, barely moving. It’s wet, cold, covered in filth and (later we discovered small maggots while cleaning her up. Fortunately, it doesn’t seem that were eating on her, but just on her. Judging by the smell, I’m thinking her mommy and other kitten siblings must have met an unfortunate end before we got there, and had we not, she’d have been quick to follow).

We scooped her up in panic mode, drove to the nearest Kroger and grabbed a can of cat formula and a bottle, (we’ve actually been in this situation before, and the little fighter from before is now a 3 year old gray terror that we love).

We rush the baby home, get the formula in the bottle, warm it up, clean the baby as best we can under a gentle, tepid water spray in the kitchen sink.

I’m a really big guy so my belly makes the perfect warm shelf to put her on. So I bottle fed her while she was there. She didn’t want to take the nipple at all, but lately, with recent feedings, she seems to understand what it’s for and goes for it with gusto.

She/or he is quite a little fighter. She’s eating well, sleeping hard, as is to be expected after the day she had yesterday, and seems to be putting on weight and getting stronger.

The only thing I’ve noticed is what seems to be a birth defect. Her back right foot is much larger than the other, as though it’s swolen or a birth defect. But it doesn’t seem to bother her or slow her down as she tries to climb all over me.”

Moses the kitten became motherless at only a couple days old. He’s noisy, adorable, and his survival is a miracle. This is his story.

He was very hungry when they brought him home. They kept him warm and fed him around the clock. After a lot of hard work and love, Moses was brought back to health and started to thrive!

“This is Moses, filling up on kitten formula. He was orphaned just a few days after birth, and just opened his eyes the day before this.”

Moses loves the sound of the water running in the kitchen because he knows that his food is soon to come. This is what happens when he becomes impatient.

A tiny orphan kitten was pulled from the ashes after a fire in Jeffersonville, Indiana. It was a miracle that the little baby kitten survived.

City of Jeffersonville, Indiana wrote at Facebook: “After the massive fire in a Jeffersonville apartment complex Thursday, out of the rubble came a kitten named Miracle.

Jeffersonville Firefighters were told a kitten was missing, but with both his parents deceased from smoke inhalation, it seemed unlikely a 2 week old kitten would survive. But the next day at 3 pm, a Firefighter found him covered in soot – alive.”

“It looked like a fuzzy play toy. I didn’t even know it was a cat,” Captain Rusty Hall of the Jeffersonville Fire Department told WDRB.

Sara Green, Director of J.B. Ogle Animal Shelter received the call that they had found the missing kitten. They rushed little Miracle to Eastside Animal Hospital where he was given oxygen.

“Just a baby kitten, just wants to be loved,” said Sara.

“Kittens are very fragile at that age, plus the smoke inhalation,” Sara said. “I don’t know how in the world this thing survived.”

The little miracle kitten continues to thrive under Sara’s care. “She will be taking care of Miracle indefinitely until they are either able to contact the owner or put him up for adoption,” City of Jeffersonville added.

A kind man spotted a kitten that needed help. The little kitten was thankful for what he did.

“I found stray cats rummaging through my trash. They scattered, but one tiny kitten was left behind, with her head stuck inside a glass jar of bacon grease. She was soaking wet, which led me to believe she’d been stuck in the jar all night during the rainstorm,” cobysev writes via imgur.

“I rushed her to the nearest animal hospital… and they managed to get the jar off her head. They also had to warm her up, as her core body temperature was dangerously low. She was exhausted and spent the car ride home napping.”

“Despite being a stray, she was quite affectionate. I named her Bacon Bit, after a suggestion from a friend. She’s quite the curious one.”

“Finally got her to eat. Despite being a tiny kitten, she wolfed down a lot of food.”

Little Derby came to Good Karma Pet Rescue in South Florida in rough shape, but the little guy is a fighter.

In less than 48 hours after the rescue, Derby’s infected eye was clearing up and his skin started to heal thanks to the tireless efforts from Derby’s foster mom Gina.

A tiny kitten trapped inside a wall was saved by a firefighter who developed such a bond with little rescue. She decided she had to adopt him.

Tara Holcomb with the Mount Dora Fire Department responded to a call about the confined kitten.

“My hand landed on a little ball of fur with a thin tail, and my first thought was that I had grabbed a rat!” Holcomb told The Dodo. “After reminding myself that I was already holding it, I pulled out this tiny, precious kitten.”

After the rescue, she handed the kitten over to the homeowners who fed the kitten and hoped the mother would return. But the mother never returned. “Holcomb checked back with the homeowners who stated the kitten was recovering, but that they were unable to keep it.” (Orlando Sentinel)

“That little kitten was all I could think about the rest of the night at work,” she said, “and I even thought of a perfect name: Wall-E.”

So the next day, she returned to the homeowners and asked if the kitten still needed a home. They said she could have the kitten if she wanted.

“I immediately turned around and headed home with the little guy sleeping in my lap, nestled inside a sock,” she said.

Firefighter Tara Holcomb rescued this little kitten twice. First by saving him from being trapped in a wall…

“Our animals seem to have found us, each in their own way, and we are grateful to be able to give them happy homes. In return, they give us more love than we could ever ask for!” said Tara.
