A litter of eight orphaned ginger kittens were found huddled up with each other in a garden.
They had gone without food for a day.
The hungry fur babies were discovered in a garden without a mother. They were only three days old, in desperate need of some motherly love. The kittens, whose eyes hadn't opened, snuggled up together to keep each other warm.
Rescuers from the Kitten Cottage, in Malmesbury, Western Cape, took them into their care and started feeding them around the clock.
"Candice and I spent a weekend trying to locate the cat mama with no luck. By the Sunday we started feeding the babies as they were screaming and hungry," Jo-Marié told Love Meow.
There were a lot of mouths to feed, so the rescue group found two dedicated caregivers, Bernice and Jo-Marie to help these babies out.
After many sleepless nights, the kittens opened their eyes to see for the first time. They were getting bigger and stronger each day.
They climbed all over their foster mom for the bottle. You can never be fast enough when it comes feeding.
Wiggling their ears while eating.
This kitty is very happy and content.
After a big meal, they stretch out before a long nap.
Look at that irresistible face!
The kittens graduated from their bottles and learned to eat from a plate.
"They are all doing fine. They just turned 5 weeks old," Jo-Marié told Love Meow. "They very cute... it's going to be difficult to let go."
