Many people continue to abandon their animals each day. In Hamilton, UK, two kittens were found in a cardboard box at Morrisons supermarket last Wednesday afternoon. They were rescued and brought to Lanarkshire Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre.
There was a hand written note left in the box saying the kittens needed a new home. The kittens were in good condition albeit had not received any vaccinations. It was apparent that they had been fed and cared by an individual prior to being dumped at the location.
It is unacceptable to abandon animals in such way in many countries such as the United States and the United Kingdom. In fact, it is considered an offense punishable by fines and/or even imprisonment.
Abandoning animals is still an offence which can carry stiff penalties. including up to six months in prison, a £5000 fine or both. - Hamilton Advertiser, UK
The two kittens are now named Sookie and Sammy, have been adopted to new homes according to the charity animal rescue and rehoming center.
