A family was surprised when a little newborn tabby showed up on their doorstep by himself a few days ago. Knowing that the kitten wouldn't survive the hot weather in Lima, Peru, they took him in and his life was forever changed!

Meet Benito!

"He still hasn't opened his eyes. We found the kitten on the doorstep by himself. We were shocked. It's summer in Lima and it was a very hot day to be outside for a newborn," Lorena Castro told Love Meow.

The kitten is now in good hands and paws. Castro owns many dogs she rescued and they are all helping out to look after the little orphaned kitten.

"We have introduced Benito to all the rescue dogs. My dog Tiara is taking care of him along with another rescue kitten saved from the busiest street in Lima," Castro said.

Benito has learned to drink from a bottle.

One of Castro's rescue dogs came to check on the little fur baby.

They all came to offer a helping paw.

Benito has many canine friends who care for him and make sure he's well and clean.

The little palm-sized kitten is eating like a champ!

His eyes haven't opened yet, but he can't wait to explore his new home.

Benito has bonded with another rescue kitty Polly Tana.
