On a freezing cold Friday in Woodland Park, Colorado, the Teller County Regional Animal Center received a phone call about a half frozen black and white kitten found under a deck. No one knew at the time if the kitten was still alive.
The animal center went to rescue. When they saw the kitten, he was not moving and his eyes were closed according to USA Today. However, they heard a few faint squeaks from the kitten, immediately they started doing everything they could to keep the kitten from passing on.
They used heated towels to warm up the kitten's body and injected him with fluids to keep him from being dehydrated. They kept working overnight until the very next morning, the kitten could finally move and walk again. Though he staggered when he walked, it was a great sign of his recovery. By the end of the day, he began to eat a little and purr happily and affectionately towards those who gave him a second chance at life.
The kitten now called Icee has gone through the toughest time in his life and is in need of a loving home. If you could provide little Icee a forever home with lots of love and warmth, it would be something that the Teller County Regional Animal Center could be thankful for on this holiday.
"Hi, my name's Icee. I'm one tough and lucky little cat. I was found during a blizzard, so that's where I got my name. My finders had given up hope and were about to bury me...when I found the strength to meow! Now I'm putting on weight and catching up fast. So I'm a fighter but you can also see I'm a lover too. I just love everyone. If you come to visit, I'll snuggle in your lap and not ever want to leave. You won't want me to either!"
