Two bonded kittens who were found huddled together in a garden, had their dream come true.
Earlier this year, a Good Samaritan from Montreal, Canada was taking a stroll in a community garden when she spotted two tiny kittens without a cat mom in sight.
They were very fearful, huddled up to each other for comfort. The finder looked around for the mother and other kittens but didn't find any. She couldn't leave the pair out to fend for themselves, and scooped them up and reached out for help.
Alyson, an animal lover, immediately responded and offered to take them. She brought the hungry little kittens home and started bottle-feeding them.
She then contacted her local rescue, Chatons Orphelins Montréal, so the kittens could get the care they needed, and a chance at a forever, loving home.
The kittens, Sylvestre (the dark gray, fluffier one) and Effie, were around three weeks old and just skin and bones. They clung to each other and refused to be separated. Alyson stayed up a few nights to ensure that they were fed and cared for around the clock — the painstaking efforts brought the kittens back to health.
"Alyson made sure that the kittens continued to put on weight every day before they were brought to our rescue," Celine Crom of Chatons Orphelins Montréal shared with Love Meow.
The sweet kittens came out of their shells and learned to eat solid food, use the litter box and even climb the cat tree. They did everything together. "They adapted to indoor life so well. When we took them into our care at six weeks old, they were plump little kittens."
The brother and sister duo shares an amazing bond.
They are each other's biggest cheerleader and never explore other places or play with a toy without sharing the experience with their best friend.
Nap time is always a two-kitty affair, and they rub off on each other in such an adorable way.
When Sylvestre asks for attention from his people, Effie comes running and starts demanding it too.
"They are sweet, affectionate kittens. They like to follow their humans together and play with each other constantly — running around the room or climbing the cat tree," Celine added.
Effie is a sweetheart who likes to seek affection from her humans. She has a cute little purr motor that switches on every time she's cuddled.
Sylvestre is the outgoing and rambunctious little brother who is always on the lookout for mischief.
"The two kittens have been very close since the start. We often find them on top of the cat tree, and they do almost everything together," Celine shared with Love Meow.
"They love to run after each other and play hide-and-seek in a tunnel."
When it came time to find their forever home, the rescue knew that they were a packaged deal, and couldn't be separated.
After weeks of waiting for the right home, a wonderful family came to meet them and fell head over heels for the bonded pair.
Sylvestre and Effie were officially adopted together that day, and their dream finally came true.
The little garden kittens have blossomed into beautiful, fluffy cuddle-bugs.
