This itty bitty kitten is just half the size of a normal cat. She was rescued along with her 10 siblings and was the only one that survived.
Meet Hope!
Last August, the Nevada SPCA No-Kill Animal Shelter received a litter of 11 kittens along with their cat mom and dad. They came to the shelter in a large box, and the babies were extremely thin and small.
"We don't know how she had a litter of 11, but they were all hers. They came from a bad hoarding situation. Even though the kittens were with their mom they started getting sick," Patricia Rusek, foster mom, told Love Meow.
The kittens' health was deteriorating, and one by one they crossed the rainbow bridge. At six weeks old, only Hope and her sister were left with their mother.
Patricia took in the kittens after their young mama stopped feeding them. Hope's sister Angel fought hard for a few days but was too frail and eventually succumbed to an infection.
"Then there was only one left which I named Hope. Out of 11 kittens she was the last one still hanging on."
"I was worried sick every day hand feeding her urgent care food with supplements daily. She had to be fed every two hours small amounts like a bottle baby even though she was older because she was that tiny," Patricia told Love Meow.
After many sleepless nights caring for the kitten, Hope started to turn around and became more and more eager to be fed. "She even liked all the supplements she received."
The little tabby girl fought hard to get bigger and stronger.
"She is very tiny for her age but day by day even though she wasn't growing she gained more energy, started fattening up her belly and becoming more healthy," Patricia told Love Meow.
Hope befriended another foster kitten, Logan, and shared meals with him every day.
They are the same age, but the difference in size is huge.
They nap together and keep each other company in their favorite bed.
Hope is so tiny but she is full of energy.
"She runs and plays like a normal kitten her age so she is developing great just not size wise she will definitely be a small cat."
Hope is a lovebug and constantly asks for attention from her foster mom.
Who could possibly say no to that face?!
"She's growing very slowly but growing."
The little miracle kitty is 3.5 months old now and weighs 1.78 pounds, still very tiny for her age.
"She loves making biscuits before bed."
Hope at around 6 weeks old!
Two months later...
"She is happy, healthy, loves people and other kittens. She is growing a tiny bit at a time, and I'm so happy she made it," Patricia told Love Meow.
Hope may stay tiny forever, but what she lacks in size, she makes up for it in love and purrs.
