About 2 years ago a female orange tabby started coming around the office I work at. My co-worker got her dishes and fed her and gave her water. We saw her every day, but she would keep her distance. Eventually we knew she was pregnant as her belly got larger and larger.
One winter day, the cat started meowing very loudly at our front door. My boss, the animal lover that he is, said to let her in because she was probably cold (it was about 32°F that day). As soon as we opened the door, the cat darted into the building, then my boss' office, and under his desk. We all figured she was just trying to hide from us as she never let us touch her before.
After about 10 minutes I went to check on the cat and saw her panting. I knew what was about to happen so I cut up an old box and put old towels in it. Lo and behold, this pretty girl gave birth to 4 kittens right under my boss' desk.
He let her stay there for about 2 weeks before we moved them to another room. When the kittens were old enough we found homes for them. Once all the kittens were adopted, the mama cat ran outside and took up her life where she left off.
