A white, stocky cat, Nin, who patrolled on the top of Mount Washington for a dozen of years, was once featured in a children's book, died on July 14, estimated at about 19 or 20 years of age.
The white mountain cat was a mascot of the Mount Washionton Observatory, who spent many years visiting and accompanying the staff in the facility.
The book he was featured in is called The Cat in the Clouds, by Eric Pinder.
Cat in the Clouds is the true story of Nin’s adventures from the moment he showed up as a stray at the Putney School in Vermont to his fun-filled days as a “weather cat” on top of Mount Washington - ericpinder.com
