A tiny newborn kitten was found unable to move after one of his rear legs was tangled in tall grass.
Meet Tapani the kitten.
The tiny ginger kitten was just one day old when he was found outside all alone.
"He was found outside in tall grass where his mom gave birth to his litter," Kitten Korner Rescue told Love Meow. "Somehow the grass wrapped around his leg and cut off the circulation."
"The caretaker thought he was dying because he wasn't moving. She brought him to me, clump of grass and all "
When he arrived in Kitten Korner Rescue, a rescue group in Henrietta, NY, they put him on antibiotics in hopes to save his leg. But the little fur baby cried everyday, looking for some motherly love.
A few days later, they took in a rescue cat mama, Treasure, and decided to introduce little Tapani to her.
"Momma gave birth to a lone kitten... and has taken on our little guy as her own."
They bandaged up his leg, and the little ginger never complained once.
He's always purring and happy for all the love and attention.
Having a mom has made a big difference to little Tapani.
The mother's milk boosted his immune system and her care helped his growth in a tremendous way.
When Tapani opened his eyes for the first time, he saw his surrogate mom right there by his side, showering him with love.
Snuggling with mama and his adopted siblings after a big meal.
"Eventually the lower portion of his leg shriveled up and came off. Though the stump healed nicely at first it became infected and we decided to amputate his leg," Kitten Korner Rescue told Love Meow.
The little fur buddy recovered in record time and is just as sweet and happy as ever.
"Tapani is doing awesome. He heals faster than any kitty I've ever seen."
"He's a tough guy, never lets anything get in his way," the rescue told Love Meow.
Just a couple of days after the surgery, he could already stand up and move around like a champ!
"He's a playful little guy and if you listen to the video you'll hear him purring."
Mama Treasure busy feeding her own kitten and many adopted babies.
"Tapani was her second 'child' and she has since gained nine more."
