Seven tiny kittens were found living in the woods without a mom in sight. They were very hungry, crying out for help.
A kind woman, who heard their meows, scooped them up and took them to the place she knew would give these babies the care and love they need.
The seven black kittens were taken to The Critical Animal Relief Foundation (CARF), a rescue group in Chicago, IL, for a second chance at life.
At first the woman said she found three babies, but ended up bringing four more to the rescue group. "Originally (we have) been told that they were three kittens that were eating on their own, but the person who found them dropped off seven kittens, four of which are bottle or mush babies, two of which just opened their eyes," CARF shares with Love Meow.
The tiny kittens were severely flea infested, but after a much-needed bath and a big meal, they started to thrive.
The kittens were so young that they urgently needed foster homes. The kind folks at CARF and the staff at the vet clinic took them home to give them the around-the-clock care they needed.
They believe that the kittens came from two separate litters due to their difference in size.
"These three are with my friend Erika whose clinic they were originally dropped off at," CARF told Love Meow.
The three tinier babies snuggle up together in their comfy bed.
The four bigger kitties are all girls.
"My four all look slightly different. One has some marbling in her coat, one has the lighter fur, and one was younger and smaller so her eyes turned last."
After a big meal. Look at that full belly!
The kittens are eating well and growing by leaps and bounds. "They are very cute and also a little bit opinionated."
The feline babies are estimated to be around 5-6 weeks old.
One of the sisters cuddles up to her foster mom, purring up a storm.
The four babies at CARF are Glinda, Wanda, Agatha, Elvira, and the three tinier ones are Sabrina, Samantha, and Werewolf (boy).
Out of the seven kittens, one of them is a boy.
They went from living in the woods, fending for themselves, to now living in the comfort of a foster home.
In about a month, these babies will be ready for their forever loving homes!
