A stray kitten sauntered up to a family's home and started meowing for attention.
A 2-month old kitten showed up outside a family's home. She was all alone and meowing loudly nonstop.
The homeowner came outside when she heard the kitten. As soon as she opened the door, the little stray made a beeline to her, rubbing up her legs and crying for attention.
She took the little one inside and started looking around to see if someone was missing a cat, but no one from the neighborhood came to claim her.
She then reached out to Chatons Orphelins Montréal, a rescue group in Montreal, Canada, for help.
"The kitten was dirty and kept seeking attention and hugs. The kind lady took her to the vet, and they found some crusts on the ears that looked like ringworm," Celine Crom of Chatons Orphelins Montréal shared with Love Meow.
Once the kitten arrived at the rescue, they gave her veterinary care and started treatment.
It took five weeks and a lot of patience, but the kitten whom they name Khela, finally got a clean bill of health.
Khela went to her foster home with Fran. The kitten never needed introduction to indoor life as she settled right in as if she had always lived there.
"For the first few days, she demanded constant cuddles from her foster mom," Celine added.
"Everyone loves her. Their senior cat cuddles with her, and Khela is so happy to have a family."
Watch the kitten's journey in this cute video:
The kitten follows her humans everywhere around the house. She cries when she wants cuddles, and won't take no for an answer.
"She has really bonded with her foster family since the beginning," Celine shared with Love Meow.
"Khela is sweet and affectionate. She is a little purr machine and always wants to be petted."
The former stray has blossomed into a love-bug and a little mischief-maker.
She supervises her humans everywhere they go, and is curious about everything they do.
When she wants attention, she will roll on her back with her paws out while keeping the purr motor turned on high.
"She's never stopped purring. Her foster family couldn't part with her and officially adopted her. It's a perfect match!"
"Khela was lucky to have been taken off the street before the bad weather hit," Celine said.
Now the little love-bug is enjoying her VIP life at her dream home.
