These rescue kitties at the Kitty Adventure Rescue League expect one huge thing from their care takers - companionship, lots of it!
Every time someone volunteers at the cat sanctuary located in Fort Worth, Texas, they spend a lot of time doing what the resident cats demand the most besides food - keeping them company.
Most of the kitties at the sanctuary are elderly cats or cats with special needs. "We are a 501c3 rescue and sanctuary for special needs, disabled, elderly and otherwise unadoptable felines in the DFW TX area," Karyn Poplin of Kitty Adventure Rescue League said.
They work around the clock to provide shelter, vet care, accommodations, and most of all love to all of the felines that have been thrown away. Now the kitties can enjoy their lives at a place they call home and be loved and spoiled.
The kitties love taking naps and love it even more when they can snuggle with a volunteer.
The senior kitties like to stay close to their human companions.
When someone is sitting in a chair, they join in their lap and start purring aloud. Having 3 or 4 cats in a lap is a norm at the sanctuary.
Once the volunteers sit down, they don't expect to get up until a while later.
Volunteers are allowed to play video games when their lap is occupied by a cat(s).
Sometimes they have game night at the sanctuary and the kitties are always in charge.
They help their human friends play cards and the kitties like to set their own rules.
Sherbert the cat is concentrating on the game, trying to give his human a helping paw.
Nap time goes something like this.
Or this.
Despite their age or health, these kitties have all been given a second chance at life. Volunteers at Kitty Adventure Rescue League help these deserving felines live out their best lives.
