Last weekend, Sarah Kelly, founder of Murphy's Law Animal Rescue (in North Carolina), was contacted about a feline family of three needing rescue. A stray cat had brought her two kittens to the perfect home for help.

The orange tabby first showed up on the family's porch by herself, crying for food. She was very shy but so hungry that she mustered enough courage to seek help. After getting her belly filled to the brim, she ran off for the night.

The next day around the same time, the cat came back, but she wasn't alone any more.

She brought a ginger kitten, a mini version of herself, along. The kitten trailed behind his mother and was eager for something to eat. The following night, the cat mom returned and surprised her human friend with not just one, but two little hungry mouths to feed.

The stray cat had been raising her two kittens and searching for the right home for help. The resident she came across is a local animal rescuer, and they quickly got in touch with Murphy's Law Animal Rescue.

Sarah and her team began the rescue for the family of three after they were able to secure a foster home. It didn't take long for them to bring the kittens to safety, but they needed to set a humane trap in the area for the mom.

The tabby cat came back later to the porch, and was safely captured and reunited with her kittens in the comfort of their foster home. "They are off the street, safe and sound, and we could not be more grateful to Paige and Joe for taking them in and giving them this second chance as Murphy's Law Animal Rescue fosters," Sarah shared with Love Meow.

"The young mom is a stray and her poor tail is broken and degloved at the end, so we knew she needed to get seen by the vet immediately," Sarah told Love Meow.

"She is being taken in this week and so are her babies for their first appointment."

The trio quickly settled into their new abode, ate to their hearts' content, and rested plentifully to make up for lost sleep.

"They were so happy to have a home to sleep in. They were so tired from being outside and always on alert, so they have been resting and recovering."

The cat mom has been named Mildred, and her kittens Charlotte (the calico sister) and Hank (the orange brother). They are all underweight and have a lot of growing and filling out to do.

Momma Mildred brought her kittens to the family she trusted, so they wouldn't have to fend for themselves on the street. Now, they no longer have to worry about food and shelter, and have a bright, exciting future ahead of them.

The kittens spend lots of time cuddling away in their favorite chair while their mom watches over them from the desk.

"They are enjoying their meal times and new lease on life," Sarah told Love Meow.
