A cat once left behind never stopped hoping, always trying to win hearts with his charm and good looks.

Finn, a six-year-old ginger tabby, found himself in need of rescue after his owners moved away and left him behind.

Volunteers at Greenpoint Cats (in NYC) quickly brought the friendly marmalade to safety. Finn, with his adorable crossed eyes and freckled nose and mouth, was instantly grateful to his rescuers for finding him.

"It was love at first sight when we first saw Finn," the rescue shared.

A kind family welcomed Finn into their home, providing him with a comfortable place while he awaited his forever home. Before long, he turned into a lap cat, showering everyone with affection and purrs.

"He is a quiet companion and enjoys the lounging life, usually within arm's length to his human, including the lap and chest."

"He likes to be in the presence of humans and is not jumpy when lots of feet walk by him. There is not a peep out of him in the middle of the night, usually sleeping in bed with his fosters and lightly snoring."

He likes to cozy up to his people, melting into their embrace whenever they pet him.

He joins his humans in the kitchen, hoping to sneak a snack or any scraps that fall to the floor. He "helps" by hoovering up crumbs while keeping his people company.

"He has a great voice, and when you are preparing his proper meal (not from the kitchen floor), he meows until the bowl lands in front of him, and then he gobbles it up, sometimes growlingly, as to fend off anyone who might compete with him for the food."

"He plays on his own (with a kicker toy or his spinny butterfly toy) or with us (with a wand toy). He has shared space and gotten along with both (a playful cat and a small dog)."

Finn is thrilled to have another feline friend who can match his unbridled energy.

"He's middle-aged but doesn't act like it. Full of energy, Finn is the cat who never leaves a party early and is always down for a late-night snack and chat. He likes loud kids, all cats, and even tolerates the company of slobbery dogs."

He has a heart of gold, showing sweetness not only to humans but to all the animals in the house.

Aside from his love for play and mischief, Finn is a true cuddle bug who enjoys lounging and falling asleep on his people. "If he's not on you, he's next to you on the rug, bed, couch, or his scratch pad."

He sees perfectly fine despite his crossed eyes, which only add to his endearing qualities.

Finn has been a ray of sunshine to everyone he meets.

What was initially expected to be a short stay has turned into months, yet the sweet tabby remains carefree and continues to enjoy every day to the fullest in his foster home.

"He was an unlucky cat who was left behind by his humans, but his luck changed when he came to us."

Now, Finn has a team of volunteers advocating for him, determined to find him the perfect family who will cherish him forever.
