A cat who loved to check in with everyone met two kittens in foster care and became the father they never had.

Nimbus, the cat, arrived at Alley Cat Rescue last year, hoping for a fresh start. Despite his rough past, he remained friendly and happy, always ready for affection.
Eager to please, he quickly learned new tricks, wowing everyone with his intelligence. "He is a clever, treat-loving kitty. He's also a lover. He gets excited for pets and often flops over and asks for chest scratches," Alley Cat Rescue shared.
"He is the kind of cat who will check in with you throughout the day by gently rubbing against your legs, just letting you know he's there."

"Nimbus means 'halo,' and he certainly deserves the name. He gets away with a lot of mischief by looking like an angel. He likes to put himself in 'time out.' He reliably goes to this special box he has chosen for his 'me time.'"
During his time at the adoption center, he met Ally Rosa, a volunteer with Alley Cat Rescue, and instantly charmed her. "He was the sweetest big boy ever," Ally told Love Meow.

Sometime later, Ally was asked if she could foster a very friendly cat, which turned out to be Nimbus. Without hesitation, she welcomed him into her home. "He started following me everywhere, was super affectionate and mellow—a dream cat."
Ally recently adopted two kittens, Peach (calico) and Leo (ginger), whom she had fostered and couldn't part with. When they met Nimbus, they were initially unsure about him.

The kittens first came to the rescue as orphans and quickly wriggled their way into Ally's heart. "They were supposed to stay with me just for three weeks. I 'failed' miserably, and I decided to adopt them."
After a few days of being standoffish with Nimbus, all the hisses faded as the kittens warmed up to their new feline friend.

"They all got along and started playing. Nimbus ended up becoming a father figure for them, especially for one of them."
Leo grew fond of Nimbus, who showered him with cuddles and purrs. He would curl up beside Nimbus during naps, letting him wash his face and wrap his paws around him, basking in the love.

Nimbus was thrilled to have two lively kittens who could match his boisterous energy. After romping through the house, they all snuggled together in a purring pile, with the kittens nestled against him in perfect contentment.
"He revealed himself as the sweet big boy he is once again, caring, loving, and playful."

Nimbus was always there for Peach and Leo whenever they needed a cuddle. They treasured every moment with their caring surrogate dad, making up for the affection they had missed.
At almost three years old and FIV+, Nimbus has never stopped loving life, and is the happiest cuddle bug to both humans and other cats.

Peach and Leo flourished with Nimbus by their side. He had a knack for knowing how to fill their hearts with joy and make them feel complete.
"He is the smartest cat around. He is every bit the angel he looks," the rescue added.

Fostering opens doors for cats like Nimbus, allowing them to thrive in a loving environment and giving them a chance to find their happily ever after.
Nimbus continues to touch hearts with his beautiful personality, being the most loyal companion anyone could ask for.
