They weren't planning to get another cat but came across a shelter kitten who was meant for them all along.

When Natalie stumbled upon a post about a family of cats at her local SPCA, she was instantly smitten, especially with Earl, a fuzzy gray tabby with curious, wide eyes.

Earl arrived at the Exploits Valley SPCA with his doting mom, Rose, and two brothers, Tetley and Grey. "Mom is the most 'aggressively friendly' kitty you'll ever find, and she loves to tell stories. Her babies are a little more reserved," the SPCA shared.

Natalie and her family didn't have plans to adopt a new cat, but something about Earl immediately captured her heart.

The three kittens followed their mom around the shelter, curiously exploring their surroundings.

Earl, the fearless one, loved scaling the tallest cat tree, eager for new adventures. His brother, Tetley, preferred staying close to their mom Rose, while Grey happily tagged along with Earl on his many exciting escapades.

A few days before meeting Earl, Natalie's family lost their beloved calico cat, Paige, and they were left heartbroken. "The house was so empty, but Natalie wasn't sure she was ready for another (cat)."

When she saw Earl's adoption post, her heart skipped a beat. His bright eyes and charming personality drew her in.

When she held the kitten in her arms, the little bundle of fur leaned in and purred softly into her ears. "He's completely stolen our hearts," Natalie shared.

Earl, now Benny, quickly became a cherished member of the family, filling the house with constant joy and laughter. What Natalie didn't expect was the delightful surprise he brought soon after moving in—it was serendipitous.

After their beloved cat passed away, they made a pillow in her likeness to remember her by. Soon after Benny arrived, he discovered the pillow on the couch. Despite having plenty of cozy napping options, he chose the sweetest spot to nestle in.

"He's taken to napping next to the pillow of my little Paige, who just passed a week ago. He's a gift to us from his big sis."

Benny likes to curl up next to the pillow as if snuggling with his big sister, purring himself to sleep. Though the family misses Paige terribly, their new kitten has brought them great comfort by fitting perfectly into their lives.

"It has been so healing for me," Natalie added.

Benny found his forever home, and so did the rest of his feline family. It was a dream come true for everyone, including their mom, Rose. (Rose was adopted with Tetley, the mama's boy.)

Benny is thriving with his loving family, charming them every day with his endearing personality and playful antics.

Natalie didn't know if she was ready for another cat until she met Benny.

The sweet kitten has filled the void in their hearts with his purrs and snuggles. Watching him doze off beside their beloved Paige comforts them, as if they've found the missing piece of their home.
