While helping a super friendly cat outside, they noticed another cat in the shrubs and couldn't leave her behind.

When Tails High, an animal rescue, received a request to help a friendly cat spotted at a feral cat colony, their team sprang into action.
Unlike most feral cats, this long-haired beauty wasn't afraid of people and even sought out attention. "When our volunteer arrived, she found a very sad array of poorly constructed shelters and blankets," Tails High shared.
As the volunteer looked for the cat, a fluffy silhouette with its tail held high emerged from a patch of shrubs.

The cat made a beeline for the volunteer, greeting her confidently with curious sniffs. She was believed to have been left behind by her family.
"After speaking with several community members who were feeding the cats, we learned that while some feral kitties were around, [the fluffy cat] and other cats had recently appeared."

The fluffy cat clearly didn't belong outdoors. She strolled around her human friend, rubbing her face against a log and nibbling from a tray of food as if ready to be taken into a real home.
She was one of the lucky ones, so the rescue team named her Rabbit Foot after a good luck charm.

Meanwhile, the volunteer noticed a gray tabby in the background, edging toward the shelters, hoping for a share of the food. "The feeders told our volunteer that she was left behind by a family that moved in the fall."
As they left with the long-haired cat, they kept the gray tabby in mind, determined to rescue her too.

"Rabbit Foot was very happy to be indoors where she belongs and settled in quickly. After going to the vet for spay surgery, she made her way to her foster [home], where she continued to show how grateful she was to be an inside kitty once again."
She nestled into her human's bed, basking in the comfort of clean blankets and sheets.

"We love a Cinderella story, and little Rabbit Foot is nothing short of a glow-up. Her foster exclaimed what a perfect cat she is, and it's no surprise that we found an adopter for Rabbit Foot before she was even posted on our sites. We're so thrilled for her and her new mom."
The rescue team never forgot the gray tabby. When she was spotted again, they hurried to bring her to safety.

With the support of many compassionate individuals, the gray tabby named Ladybug finally left street life behind. "She's safe inside, getting lots of love. She's a total doll."
Ladybug is pleased with her new cozy living quarters, relieved she no longer has to scavenge for food. She's friendly and curious, gazing up at her people for attention.

Though her past was heartbreaking, volunteers at Tails High are committed to giving her a future full of love and purrs. "All we can do is continue to focus on our mission to provide these cats with the very best and a second chance at a family they deserve."
"While resources are lacking and some may not be aware of them, there are open intake shelters and numerous rescue groups that do their best to provide assistance."

These two lives were forever changed thanks to their caretakers and volunteers at Tails High.
Rabbit Foot is celebrating her first weekend in her forever home, while Ladybug is enjoying the warmth and comfort of indoor life with her loving foster family.
