A kitten showed what he could do, growing from a small marvel into a strong cat. Now, he has the friend he always wanted.

Erin H., a seasoned fosterer with ARPO, took in a tiny gray and white kitten, the only survivor of his litter.

The palm-sized wonder needed to be syringe-fed around the clock. It was touch and go for a while, and when he was too weak to latch on, Erin switched to tube feeding, doing everything she could to save him.

After a long week with little sleep, she finally saw the kitten perk up, overcoming the odds stacked against him.

"He has been pulling through and growing like a weed," Erin shared.

With his eyes finally open, Erin breathed a sigh of relief and celebrated the milestone. The kitten named Eros showed a hearty appetite and a strong will to live.

"What better name than the Greek God of love, when our world needs as much love as we can give right now."

After a challenging start and numerous complications, Eros bounced back like a fierce warrior. Those sleepless nights paid off as Erin watched him waddle around with newfound energy and a zest for life.

As he was nursed back to health, his belly became rounder, and he grew more curious and active. Once he was steady on his feet and ready to venture beyond his nest, he eagerly sought attention and playtime, longing for a constant companion.

Meanwhile, another ARPO volunteer, Lori White, helped transport an orange kitten who had arrived at a shelter all alone.

The kitten, Kali, about the same age as Eros, was ready to socialize. They hoped to find her a companion since she was another singleton in need of a friend. "We love to give singles a family of their own once they are healthy," Lori shared.

Eros was ecstatic to have a friend and quickly bonded with Kali. Before long, they were wrestling and racing around the room as if they'd always been siblings.

Lori welcomed the duo into her care, as she had another lone kitten who needed a playmate.

The two quickly settled in, and after exploring their new space, they curled up in one of their beds for some pre-nap tussling. "They both love this 'calm' bed and really enjoy wresting in it."

They romp around, scale cat trees, and play-fight during their waking hours. When it's time to recharge, they nestle in their cozy bed, purring themselves to sleep. There's never a dull moment in the house.

Intrigued by all the ruckus in the room, Rani, Lori's other foster kitten, began warming up to the newcomers.

"We have made a lot of progress with Rani accepting Kali and Eros—they all started playing together."

The trio zipped around the room, coaxing each other to play. Seeing Kali on a cat tree, Rani jumped up, waving her paw to catch Eros' attention from the cubby area. They were playing and learning like a bunch of school kids.

From a tiny wonder to a beautiful young cat, Eros has come a long way since being rescued at just a day old.

Now, he has a best friend to share his life with and a loving foster family, ensuring a bright future for him and his feline friends.
