A resident saw a kitten wander onto her patio in search of food. Soon after, two more kittens appeared and joined the first for a meal.
There was a colony of stray cats near her home, and the young ones often didn't survive long due to the elements and other animals. "The lady managed to catch one of the kittens who came to her patio for food," Chatons Orphelins Montreal shared.
Fearing for the other kittens, she felt relieved when they returned to her patio. Without hesitation, she stepped in to bring them to safety.

While rescuing the three kittens, the resident also discovered a fourth one from another litter. "She had never seen this kitten before, but the kitten landed in the humane trap because she was so hungry."
All four kittens were transported to the rescue for immediate care, where a new life in a foster home awaited them.

Among them was a timid orange tabby named Chip, who needed a lot of TLC. "They were overwhelmed and frightened. Though tiny, they tried to act tough and even charged at us."
After receiving treatment for stomach issues, they began to feel better and slowly settled into the comfort of indoor life. "They were very thin under their fluffy coats and quite hungry."

With their hearty appetites, they soon filled out and gained strength. While the other kittens warmed up to human touch, Chip needed extra help to build confidence. They paired him with playful, sociable cats who showed him the ropes.
"Chip adores other cats and likes to mimic what they do."

For a while, he hid in his carrier or a corner of his room, too afraid to be near people, but as he watched other cats interact with humans, he grew more comfortable and started to trust them.
"He hadn't known people before coming to us, but he made progress every day, thanks to the other cats in the house."

"Chip is starting to show his cuddly side. He's found his purr and loves it when we spend quality time with him."
He is shy at first, but once he lets his guard down, he becomes a cuddle bug. As his confidence grows, so does his playful side. He loves chasing fuzzy toys, feather dusters, and his feline friends. He climbs anything he can get his paws on.

He follows the older cats and joins in their playful antics. "If there's food left out, he'll try to steal it with his partner in crime (another cat). He trails other cats around the house, imitating their actions, trying to be just like them."
"That's how he ended up sleeping on our laps for the first time, simply by following the other cats' lead."

Chip has blossomed into a happy, cuddly young cat who enjoys belly rubs and even rolls onto his back for more. "Once he trusts you, he'll snuggle up on you and purr like a tractor, showing his belly and waving his paws in the air."
He has grown fond of his foster family and the cozy new life he never knew existed.

"He loves lounging on soft blankets and falling asleep on the cat tree by the window. He is a lively little kitten who thrives on attention from both cats and humans. Though he still gets startled by sudden movements, he's making progress every day."
"When he feels safe with you, he'll stick to you like a little shadow, constantly seeking cuddles."
