A kitten held onto her sister, trying to keep each other warm until someone came to their rescue.

A few weeks ago, a resident from Montreal, Canada spotted two kittens huddled on top of a garbage bin, trying to survive the cold. Local animal rescuers, Nadia and Christine, saw a picture of the tabbies and immediately rushed to the scene.
They got the kittens to safety and brought them in to warm them up and give them food and water. The feline sisters were both in poor shape with a severe upper respiratory infection and had trouble breathing.
They were taken to a veterinary clinic for treatment. Sadly, the smaller kitten lost her fight after days of trying to save her.
The surviving kitten whom they named Luciole, was hanging in there and refused to give up.

Chatons Orphelins Montréal, a local rescue group, was contacted about the kitten needing help and foster care. The rescue sprang into action — arranged a foster home and transport, and welcomed the kitten in with open arms.
"When she arrived, she was lost and scared, but if we stepped away, she would start meowing for us to come back," Chatons Orphelins Montréal shared with Love Meow.

Her eyes were still infected so they took her to their veterinarian and got her new antibiotics to help fight off her illness.
"Luciole slept a lot so she could heal and regain strength," the rescue said. "She went to stay with her foster mom, Elodie, and slowly came out of her shell while she healed."

Over the next few weeks, the sweet tabby was nursed back to health. Everyone at the clinic adores her and she's no longer afraid of people and even demands their attention.
"It took her some time to adapt to being around humans. Now, when we call her, she purrs up a storm," the rescue added.

The kitty is getting more active and playful every day. "She loves to play with everything especially toys that make sound."
Luciole wants to be close to her foster mom at all times. When she naps, she will cuddle next to her human for some much-needed comfort.

Despite a rough beginning, she bounced back and found hope and love.
She's a survivor and a fighter. Soon, she will be ready to spread her wings and fly her way into someone's heart forever.
