A kitten who was found napping outside of a house, is so happy to be off the streets and have a safe place to stay.
Carmen Weinberg
Carmen Weinberg, an animal rescuer from Florida and the founder of Animal Friends Project, was at a mobile home park in West Palm Beach (Florida) when she spotted a kitten sleeping outside of a house.
A neighbor had been caring for a few stray cats in the area, and needed assistance to get them to safety. The little grey and white tabby was taking a nap on the porch when Carmen arrived.
As soon as the kitten noticed Carmen, she got up and made a beeline to her.

"The kitten walked up to me when she saw me," Carmen shared with Love Meow.
She was friendly, rubbing her face against Carmen's hand, as if to say she was ready to go with her. "I talked to the neighbor, and she said it would be ok if I tried to find her a rescue or a home."

Carmen reached out to the rescue community as her own charity was full at the time. Vicki from Adopt a Cat Foundation (a volunteer-run rescue in Lake Park, Florida) saw her plea and immediately offered to help.
"I went back to pick up the kitten. She was still in the same spot," Carmen told Love Meow.

Carmen scooped her up, placed her in a carrier and off they went. The tabby was a bit nervous during the car ride, but once they got home, she began to relax.
She snuggled up to her rescuer and just wanted to be loved. That night, the kitten fell asleep in a comfortable bed instead of the cold concrete.

She was treated for fleas, filled her belly with good food and indulged on all the attention. The tabby was thrilled to no longer have to fend for herself or sleep outside without shelter.
Carmen continued to work with the neighbor to help other cats in need.

The day after the rescue, the kitten was transferred to Adopt a Cat Foundation where she would receive medical care, lots of the pets and attention from volunteers, and a chance at her forever home.
"We are so grateful for their help getting this baby off the streets," Carmen said.

The sweet kitten named Milly quickly came out of her shell and soaked up all the love from everyone she came across. She was an instant love-bug and an attention seeker.
"She is affectionate, playful, gutsy and adorable," Adopt a Cat Foundation shared with Love Meow.

Milly is fascinated with all the new toys around her, but nothing makes her happier than being doted on by her people and getting pets and snuggles on demand. She greets everyone she meets on the adoption floor, and isn't shy to ask them for attention.
Knowing how much she thrives with company, volunteers take turns to spend time with Milly.

Brianna, who recently started volunteering at the rescue, came to see Milly and was immediately met with abundant affection from the tabby girl.
Milly walked up to her, gave her the sweetest nose kisses, and rubbed her face against hers.

Milly is in pure bliss whenever she gets chin or back scratches. She loves to be the center of attention and has so much to give.
The tabby girl is looking for a forever home that will love and cherish her for life. In return, she will provide the best snuggles and kisses and fill her home with joy.

The former stray will never have to worry about food and shelter again. She is thriving and hopes that someday she will find a place of her very own.
