A kitten sprang for affection and wouldn't take no for an answer once she was indoors, away from the highway.

About a month ago, Andrea Christian, an animal rescuer, received a call from a police officer about a kitten found on a highway.
"The officer was traveling north on I-75 when she spotted a tiny stunned kitten on the side of the road," Andrea shared. She saw the pictures of the fluffy kitten and her injuries and immediately offered her help.
When the kitten needed additional care, Andrea quickly took her in. The doll-like kitten with pleading eyes was hungry for affection.

The kitten had several wounds on her chin, chest, and paws and was missing patches of fur due to ringworm. Andrea began treating her and was surprised at how calm she was as if the kitten understood she was being helped.
A few days later, she was on the mend, and her energy levels soared.

The little bundle of fur didn't like being alone and eagerly sought attention from people. The moment Andrea walked in, she tried to leap over her pen for affection, refusing to take no for an answer.
"This girl is always on a mission to get someplace. Most likely the reason she was found on the side of the interstate."

Andrea set up a large playpen to give the kitten more space to run around and toys to tussle with, but all she wanted was pets and snuggles. She took her daily treatment in stride, unfazed by it all.
Despite everything she'd endured, she remained in good spirits and just wanted to be loved.

The kitten perked up at the sound of Andrea's voice and followed it until she was scooped up. Knowing she needed a constant companion, Andrea found the perfect foster home for her.
Nadija, a foster volunteer, was already caring for two kittens with ringworm when she heard about another one that needed a friend. She jumped at the chance to help.

Shortly after arriving, the fluffy kitten hopped into a cat tree, surveying the room like she owned it. She was enthralled by Nadija as she spoke to her, her big, adorable eyes fixed intently on her.
"Nothing is holding this girl back, and she's full of personality and has lots of love to give," Nadija shared.

The kitten underwent surgery to repair her chin and came home with a little button on her lip, hence her name, Buttons. "The orange piece is to prevent the sutures from sinking into the skin. She's cute as a button."
In no time, Buttons was zipping around her room, climbing anything she could get her paws on.

Buttons has met her new feline friends, who are also undergoing ringworm treatment. They've taken her under their wing, and she is thrilled to have playmates to keep her company.
The brown and white tabby, sensing that Buttons needs extra TLC, is exceptionally gentle and sweet with her.

After a few weeks of care and nurturing, Buttons has healed beautifully. Her wounds have disappeared, and her fur is growing back. The button has been removed from her chin, and she's blossomed into the cutest little button of a kitten.
"She's the sweetest little lady, so playful, very chatty, and so snuggly."
