A woman found a tiny calico kitten huddled under a balcony in her neighborhood with no mother in sight.
The finder took her home and tried to bottle-feed her but to no avail. "A neonatal kitten without a mother needs round-the-clock feeding and warmth to ensure healthy development," Chatons Orphelins Montreal shared.
"The finder reached out to us for help with the calico, and we immediately accepted her into our care."

At three weeks old, the kitten, Kicklie, arrived at the rescue with her paws cold to the touch. "We quickly warmed her up before giving her a bottle."
Despite some stomach troubles, the kitten remained in good spirits. After filling her belly, she nestled into a bundle of soft blankets and held her foster mom's hand as she drifted off to sleep.

Weighing only 322 grams, little Kicklie had much growing to do. "She quickly bonded with her foster mom, and once she figured out how to latch onto a bottle, she began gaining weight and strength."
"She put on weight steadily, getting stronger and more active each day. Within a week, she even started using the small litter box on her own."

The calico loved being chauffeured around in her cozy "cat-mobile," a carrier lined with heated blankets. With a feeding schedule every few hours, she happily tagged along with her foster mom to work or on errands. She won everyone over with her irresistible charm.
She became more curious and adventurous, taking in the world as she traveled everywhere with her foster mom.

After a week of good food and plenty of TLC, Kicklie tipped the scales at over 500 grams, much to her foster mom's delight. "She's grown so much and is now discovering how to play with toys and explore her surroundings."
"Her tummy issues are resolved, and she has mastered using the litter box all by herself."

When she was given a crinkly toy, she immediately went to investigate it, batting it around with a burst of energy.
In true calico fashion, Kicklie greeted a resident cat, who towered over her. Despite her tiny size, she waddled with confidence and joyfully mingled with everyone around her.

Despite her rough start, Kicklie now thrives with a devoted foster mom who meets her every need and a clowder of feline friends to show her the ropes as she grows.
For now, she spends most of her time soaking up all the love and attention from her humans.

She's graduated from her kitten bassinet to a spacious pen, where she can hop around and refine her walking and running skills.
When she discovered a glass bowl, she claimed it as her new bed, rolling around inside and having the time of her life. But the moment she heard her foster mom, she gazed up adoringly, waiting to be scooped up and cuddled.

With the help of the finder and volunteers, Kicklie escaped the harsh street life and embarked on a journey filled with comfort and love.
Soon, she will meet other foster kittens with whom she can romp around and wrestle.
