Two kittens were taken indoors and greeted by a friend who believed he was part cat, showing them the way.

Last month, Laura welcomed a pair of kittens into her home to foster. "They were brought into the shelter as strays, very skinny and dehydrated," Laura shared.
At around three months old, they were underweight and had some catching up to do before they were ready for adoption. The tuxedo, Linus, was the shyer of the two; upon arriving, he stayed in the carrier while his sister, Lucy, slowly ventured out to explore.
As Lucy emerged from the carrier, she was greeted by a gentle giant eager to befriend them both.

Laura's 14-year-old resident dog, Raylan (Instagram @raylan_the_dog), has fostered countless kittens over the years. Since he was rescued at two years old, he's been a kind and loving soul to every small animal he meets.
He is attuned to even the most timid kitten, knowing just how to win them over as if he were part cat.

After exchanging gentle nose greetings, Lucy was instantly smitten with her canine friend.
"She just loved him from the moment she met him. Raylan immediately wanted to carry her around, wagging his tail furiously. They are perfect for each other as a foster family. The boy (Linus) is not quite convinced yet."

By the next morning, Linus had warmed up to the resident dog, walking around with his tail held high. The kittens, charmed by Raylan's sweet nature, quickly came out of their shells. "He does the work, and it happens fast every time."
When the kittens received their favorite treats, Raylan joined in as part of the clowder. He waited for them to finish before gently cleaning up the leftovers.

Lucy began seeking comfort from her canine friend, nuzzling into his fur and eventually dozing off beside him.
"Linus and Lucy are thriving under Raylan's tutelage. Lucy is constantly trying to get as close as possible to Raylan (she knows how to find a good lounging spot), while Linus is learning that dogs make excellent heated beds."

"He loves taking care of kittens—he cleans them, cuddles them, and plays with them. He also helps them come out of their shells when they're shy or scared and turns them into great family members so they can be adopted."
The two feline siblings quickly found the coziest spot to nap this winter: snuggled up in the dog's bed.

After frolicking in the snow, Raylan loves to tuck himself under a large blanket covered in kittens. The three of them often nap for hours together, feeling completely at ease.
The once-timid kittens have blossomed into confident, joyful young cats.

While it's cold outside, the kittens stay warm and comfy with their gentle giant by their side. They follow him around the house, always curious about his next move, even if it means napping all day.

Thanks to a second chance, Linus and Lucy, guided by their canine companion, are thriving in their loving foster home.
Soon, they will be ready for a place of their own, while Raylan continues to help more kittens in need.
