A kind person helped a group of cats after they lost the only home they had ever known. To his surprise, one of them had kittens.

Seven cats found themselves outside of their own home after their owner sadly passed away. They were lost and scared and had nowhere to go until a kind-hearted person came across them.

While onsite for work, Samuel was shocked to discover the hungry and thirsty cats in the yard. "He gave them some water, and they lapped it right up," Chatons Orphelins Montreal shared.

"He went to a convenience store to get some canned food, and the cats scarfed it down."

Knowing the cats couldn't stay there, he took matters into his own hands. "He decided to secure all seven of them and place them in his house until he could find a rescue to help them."

He borrowed a humane trap and returned to the location with cans of food. The hungry cats were immediately drawn in, and, one by one, they were led to safety.

Samuel transported the sickest cat to Chatons Orphelins Montreal so he could be treated right away. To his surprise, while caring for the remaining six in his home, one of them, Lilah, gave birth to three kittens.

His house was already full, and the shy mother cat urgently needed a quiet space to raise her young.

The compassionate volunteers at Chatons Orphelins Montreal stepped up once again and arranged for a foster home for the family of four. "She was very anxious initially and didn't let anyone approach her. Her kittens were ten days old and underweight."

They immediately put Lilah on a nutrient-rich diet to help improve her milk production.

The kittens began gaining weight, and their energy levels soared. "Their foster family takes wonderful care of them and weighs the kittens daily. There are two girls, Dottie and Iris, and one boy, Narcisse."

The mama cat was timid but accepted help from her humans and allowed them to be around her babies.

Lilah started taking treats from a wooden spatula, slowly coming out of her shell. With excellent care and boundless food, she grew more confident each day, and soon, she felt comfortable enough to step away from her kittens to refuel and relax.

As soon as the kittens found their legs, they began exploring the room, keeping their mom on her toes.

Lilah no longer hides away and spends her days happily lounging with her kittens. She keeps them immaculately clean and teaches them all the essentials of being a cat.

The kittens have grown by leaps and bounds. They can eat on their own now but still enjoy nuzzling their mom for comfort.

Thanks to the rescuer and volunteers, these three kittens are growing up knowing only comfort and love.

At two months old, they've entered the rambunctious phase of zoomies and playful antics. The trio is constantly on the move, running, jumping, and wrestling with each other until they tire out from all the shenanigans.

While the kittens are busy perfecting their feline skills, Lilah watches from the sidelines, starting to focus on her own needs and learning to appreciate the love and attention from her humans.
