A man went out to exercise and noticed a cat in a tree at his usual spot. He ended up changing the cat's life.

A man arrived at a local park to do some morning exercise when he noticed something unusual under a nearby tree.

"I do Tai Chi every morning right there, and I saw this pink cat carrier (sitting on the ground)," he shared in a video with Greenpoint Cats, an all-volunteer cat rescue. To his surprise, there was a cat perched on a large branch of the tree.

It appeared the cat had escaped her carrier and climbed the tree to seek refuge.

The finder dragged a nearby picnic table under the tree and climbed up to get closer to the cat. He reached out just enough to pet the tabby and realized she was friendly but unwilling to budge.

The cat clung to the branch, steadying herself against the trunk.

"I'm trying to get her back into this cat carrier. She lets me pet her and is fairly friendly, but she just won't get back into this carrier. And I have no skills with tree cats."

After contacting local authorities and the city shelter with no luck, he was able to get in touch with volunteers at Greenpoint Cats, who stepped in to help. They safely brought the cat down from the tree and lovingly named her Tai Chi.

At the vet, they discovered she was a senior cat in need of medical care. Thanks to the support of Greenpoint Cats, Tai Chi received the treatment she needed. She settled into foster care and quickly made herself at home.

She cozied up near her people and curled into a perfect loaf shape.

Before long, she was snuggling with her humans, soaking up all the love.

"Tai Chi is the ultimate lap cat with a heart full of love and a voice that demands it," Greenpoint Cats shared. "This elegant older lady was rescued from high up in a tree after being abandoned in a park, but she hasn't let that dim her affectionate spirit."

"She enjoys lounging like a world-class loaf and prefers naps over playtime—don't expect much pouncing from this retired huntress."

Tai Chi follows her humans everywhere, always the perfect companion. "She'll greet you at the door with delightful trills and tap your arm when it's time (right now) for pets."

She received the much-needed dental care for her few remaining teeth and was thrilled to finally eat without discomfort.

She adores her new pampered life, where she is cherished and spoiled daily. Whenever she craves extra affection, she rolls onto her back, offering her belly as an invitation. She knows what she wants and isn't shy about asking for it.

Despite everything she's been through, she has never lost trust and continues to shower her people with cuddles. Even with plenty of napping spots around the house, Tai Chi, a true people cat, chooses to snuggle up with her humans and snooze on their laps.

She would spend all day cuddling with her people if she could.

Thanks to the kind-hearted rescuer and dedicated volunteers, Tai Chi's life has changed for the better. "If you're ready to be adored by a cat who knows exactly what she wants (mostly cuddles), Tai Chi is waiting to meet you."
