Little rescued ginger kitten survived from mild hypothermia

This ginger baby was rescue recently by Rafael Cobos’s neighbor at a farm. She was one of the feral kittens that survived in her litter. “Our next door neighbour found her hiding, soaking wet from the rain and suffering mild hypothermia,” said Rafael.

“I dried her as much as I could and placed her under a table lamp to warm her up.” Rafael even got a little sweater for the ginger furball to help her stay warm.

“It took about a day of gently warming to bring her round, she was almost catatonic at first. She is eating well now but it was the dog and the cat, Moglet (Moglet’s rescue story) that kept her clean and continues to this day to look after her.”

    Awfully sweet photos!!

I love adult animals who take little ones under their wings. It is very heart-warming to see the care & love automatically extended to a young defenseless creature.

Often wondered to myself – what makes some adult animals such natural protectors?

It is a wonderful gene to have! If only humans have more of this nurturing gene, there will be much less suffering in the world.

  19. Rafael Cobos says:

Thanks to Amy and to you all for such nice comments. I was amazed that my older cat and even older dog have taken to the kitten so well, it must be their natural instincts to care.

  30. Alex says:

An orange female? That is not a common thing! What is also interesting is the fact that her new 'mother' doesn't appear to be out of kittenhood herself. She must have a maternal streak a mile thick…no doubt influenced by her surroundings. My compliments.

  31. aminah says:

  35. Ronda says:

Such great touching stories of rescued animals that if not for the love and compassion show by these people probably would have died. If only everyone could show and feel these emotions there would be a lot less homeless abused animals in this world. Keep up the good work. Kudos to all of you, and God Bless.

  36. Alex says:

Please; don't spare the details on their development!
