A tabby cat made an impromptu visit to the Anfield stadium during a football match between Liverpool and Tottenham. No one knows how the feline got onto the field. As she was slinking around the field in front of the goalkeeper, she turned a muted match into an exciting one. After several personnel carefully escorted the kitty off the field to safety, the fame of the Anfield cat just began.
A twitter account (@AnfieldCat) dedicated to the Anfield Cat immediately gained over 22k followers after the incident. The match ended goalless, but it was a memorable game thanks to the Anfield cat.

Poor baby. I hope they found his owner or found him a good home!
i was afraid they’d hurt the kitty, but the security man seemed to pick kitty up gently…poor frightened baby! all that noise surrounding kitty form all sides and not knowing how to get away from it.
Glad they were so helpful to poor kitty!
Never shy to take centre-stage! Go the Kitties!
love how they picked the cat up gently and how the guy seems to be petting it as he walks off.
Such a cute kitty! I hope he finds a home now with all this publicity!
What an adorable kitty!!!! And she made the game even better!! But she must have been scared surrounded by all these people. I hope she found a good home…
Wonder if she wanted to get in on the game?
The kitty was so scared.I was happy when they picked him up and brought him to a safe place.
I guess he just wanted to kick the ball around for awhile, glad that he is ok.
Sweet baby! And I loved that white patch on his back left leg!
I hope we can find out what happened to the poor frightened animal – I wonder if some idiot put him on the field as a joke.
Obviously the cat wanted to play; maybe as a center forward. But I agree with the previous comment: some idiot could have pu him on the field. BTW., he is precious.
Did they find a home for this cat? Or did they let him just wander off to the streets again? Worried.
Hope some kind soul gave him/her a home.
Up to date the cat is still a stray.
Come on Liverpool get this cat a good home
