Five tiny orphan kittens just arrived in their foster home in Louisiana recently. Immediately, they were adopted by a foster dog mama who just gave birth to her own litter.
Kitties’ foster mom wrote via reddit: The mama dog I’ve been fostering insisted these orphan kittens, who arrived yesterday, belong to her. I still give them a bottle every 3 hours of kitten formula. It does help to have the mama dog cleaning them and keeping them warm and feeling safe.
She loves (the kittens), the gets upset when I pick them up to bottle feed them. If they fall out of the bed she picks them up and puts them back in.

What a heartwarming story! I love it when she notices the little black kitten alone and gently nosing it awake as if to say “hey, are you ok – time to eat.” There is a god.

I hope the mama dog is getting lots of extra nutrients so her body doesn’t get depleted from feeding all those kids!
And Jenny makes a good point — it’d be very interesting to track those puppies to see if they have good relationships with cats as they grow up.

Amazing….animals are just so amazing! But let’s talk about this foster human! Fostering a mama dog, puppies and kittens ! Thats amazing……my 3 animals (2 dogs & 1 cat) were all rescued and in a foster home before coming home to us…thank you for what you do!
This brings tears of happiness to my eyes. But, more than that, it’s because non-human animals have no ego. Everything they do is out of altruism. There are PLENTY of humans that can take MANY pointers from this wonderful dog-mama!
What a patient momma! And not having enough to worry about, not enough to feed at once, she notices that one kitten remains sleeping while all the other pups and kits are scrambling for food so she hitches herself over to the sleeping kitten to make certain all is well with the world. God I love animals!
