A group of firefighters from Winooski, Vermont found 2 little kittens hiding in the ashes of an apartment building destroyed by a fire.

Two kittens no older than 2 months old were found under a charred sofa in the basement apartment. The firefighters brought the kittens to shelter at an auto shop across the scene. "We brought them here to stay warm and feed them," said one of the firefighters. It didn't take long for Smokey and Moomoo (nicknamed by the firefighters) to warm up and start making friends.

They sent the kittens to the vet until the owner gets back to pick them up. As much as the firefighters didn't want to see them go, they were happy to have these little guys to brighten a very chaotic day. (WPTZ.com)
