Touching Reunion: Cat Visits Her Human At Rehab Facility

Mitzy the cat didn’t get to see her human for three weeks after the woman was sent to the hospital due to a stroke. It was a touching reunion when they finally met at the rehab facility where she is recovering.

“My mom’s friend had a stroke recently. She’s recovering well, but hadn’t seen her cat Mitzy in almost three weeks. We finally were able to bring Mitzy in to the rehab where she was staying – once we let her out of the crate, Mitzy wouldn’t get off her lap for anything.”

“We managed to bring her kitty in for a visit – they were inseparable.”

What a sweet story! Thanks for sharing. I don’t think my furchild will survive without me for any length of time! I haven’t even gone away on vaction for 5 years because I cannot contemplate leaving her in the care of anyone else. :) We are BESTIE BEST friends! Nothing like the love of a precious furchild. Meow!

So precious–glad they got to visit.

When my grandparents were in the nursing home they occasionally received a visit from their dog. My aunt got the dog bathed and groomed for the visits. My grandmother didn’t talk and seemed unaware of her surroundings, but she always recognized their dog.

When I had a stroke at the age of 36, I was in the hospital for a month. I missed my cat soooo much, my mom brought in a pic to put on my nightstand. I would have LOVED it if he could have come see me!

  15. Karen says:

I use to take my cat to visit my Mom in her long term care facility. Carly would stick right next to Mom the entire time she was there.

  16. Kate says:

I am deeply touched by this story. Cats are such devoted friends and their love has no limit. I pray that these two will have many more days and years together.

Hospitals, rehabs and hospices should throw their doors open to four legged companions, there would be more recovery for many and a more joyous end for others.

  18. pumbie says:

Yes, they were lucky in that: the rehab facility to allow the cat in. I hope both are doing well:)
