Many people who have passed by this house in the San Jose’s Rose Garden neighborhood think that the family is harboring a wild animal in their home, but turns out it's just a big house cat!
The big kitty isn't like what these folks think he is. Spock is a Maine Coon cat who eats a pound of food every day and is almost four feet long.
"The passers by who knocked on my door and thought I was harboring a wild animal that would be a danger to their small dogs," Spock's human Colleen Pizarev told Love Meow.

"His tail was almost longer than he was as a kitten."
Once they met Spock, they were amazed by his sheer size but soon realized what a sweet natured cat he is. "Maine Coon cats are so gentle. They never bite or scratch, and they're good with people, other cats and dogs. They basically get along with everyone, and want to exist beautifully," Pizarev told Love Meow.
"We adopted Spock when he was 5 months old. His breeder was going to keep him for show, but his eyes turned the wrong color for a show cat, so we were able to have him. He was 9 pounds at 5 months, and so incredibly cute."
Spock is almost 4 years old weighing in at 27 lbs. He requires both hands and a strong back to be held by a person.
"Like every other adolescent, he's addicted to YouTube. He has a full set of favorites saved of birds and squirrels. He loves to watch his videos before going to sleep at night. We call them Spock's bedtime stories.
"He's an indoor cat, so the videos give him the interaction with birds and rodents that he loves," Pizarev told Love Meow.

Watching YouTube videos before nap time!
"He loves sleeping in laps, but because of his size, you have to stretch out your legs, and he fills it up completely. You lose all feeling after a while."
Spock thinks he's really a human trapped in a cat's body :).
