Four and a half years ago, a tiny kitten from a slum in Kenya followed a man home and decided to stay.
A man from America was working at a non-profit organization for children in Kenya when a little feline came up to him one day in need of a home.
"That was back in 2012 when I was living in a very small room near the slum," reddit user TheLake said. "His name is Nala. For the first couple months I thought he was a girl." But the name stuck.
Most of the cats he came across in Kenya were skinny and very small.
He gave the kitty some food and Nala decided to stay and immediately took over his human's bed. The young man couldn't say no.
Pet supplies are hard to come by in the area, but the young man managed to get a litter box, a luxury to many cats there. "The fact that he eats cat food and uses a litter box puts him pretty high up on the list."
The kitten started to thrive living an indoor life.
Every day he laid down on his human's laptop when he tried to work.
"Kenyans are always so shocked at how healthy and affectionate Nala is when they see him. It is true that most family cats aren't really considered to be pets, but serve primarily to kill mice and rats."
When Nala naps on the computer, work can wait.
Nala offers a helping paw, when the young man tries to pack.
His favorite perching spot because it's warm.
"He's grown to be quite the little lion."
It's been more than four years since Nala found his forever human. He's grown into a handsome ginger boy!
In 2016, Nala made the big adventure from Kenya to America and moved into his forever loving home!
Claiming the cabinet at his new home.
Nala who came from a slum in Kenya, is now living the life with the man who saved him.
