Itty Bitty the 3-legged kitty is adopted by a special human who is also an amputee. When Brian Gentilotti met the tripaw kitten, he knew it was the perfect match.

“Itty Bitty is the amazing story of an injured kitten brought to Katz 4 Keeps with an uncertain future. While waiting to grow big enough to be spayed and have her injured leg amputated, Itty Bitty met Brian. Brian, an amputee himself and a huge part of Camp No Limits (camp for amputee children), was brought to Katz 4 Keeps by a friend to meet Itty Bitty. Brian immediately felt a connection and put a hold on Itty Bitty for adoption,” Katz 4 Keeps wrote on Facebook.

“I was down here visiting two campers and we were going to go to camp the following week. They said we found a really great cat for you to adopt so I came down and checked her out and that was it,” said Gentilotti via First Coast News.

Itty Bitty had to have her badly injured front leg removed, but she isn’t letting her amputation slow her down at all.

“I also had an amputation due to traumatic injury. After I had the amputation I was able to go back to doing the things I used to do like snow mobile and ski so it was definitely a positive thing… She’s not limited… She climbs. She hops up on things. She plays. She walks,” Gentilotti said.

“You can do anything. Don’t sit home and feel sorry for yourself because you have one limb missing, a hand or are missing both legs. There are a lot of amputees there that are missing all four limbs, and it’s amazing what they can do. They can throw a football better than I can, and this cat is an example of that. She’s able to do anything,” Gentilotti added.

Bran Nelson Threepaw has only 3 legs, but it doesn’t stop him from loving life. As soon as he gets on the floor, he starts running.

“He was found in the street at four weeks old, dragging his limp front leg behind him. They tried to massage his leg to see if it would get feeling back, but it was only causing him frustration, so they decided to amputate it from the shoulder,” said Chelsie Barnes.

“After his surgery, Bran was up and running! The adoption coordinator, Rachel G., said ‘I had to stop playing with him! He would just play so hard I worried about his stitches!'”

When Chelsie and Joshua met Bran, it was love at first sight, and the next thing they knew Bran was on his way to his forever home. “He spends his days climbing, jumping, romping, and tackling his brother Tallurah. Even though he only has three legs, he doesn’t even notice that it’s gone. In fact, I’m sure he believes that every other cat is odd because they have an extra leg!”

Her name is Noisy, a 3-legged calico who lost a leg, survived the dangerous outdoors but found someone who rescued her and gave her a place to call home.

“It happened two years ago. As I was walking to my office that morning, I heard a tiny meowing coming from one of the many cars parked in front of the office. I checked around and found that it came from an MPV,” said Nazita I.

The owner of the car eventually found the kitten and removed her from his car, but left her by the roadside. The frightened little kitten ran under another car to take refuge.

Later Nazita heard the meowing again, but it came from under a hotdog stand which was closed for the day. “My colleague and I finally got the stray out, placed her in a box we found, and drove her to the nearest 24 hour vet,” she added.

When they arrived at the vet’s, they realized that part of her leg was missing. The vet explained that the kitten would require high femur amputation. “It was a very expensive surgery… I was faced with a decision which I have never regretted. I decided to adopt her. It was the best decision I’ve ever made,” she said.

“My colleague named her Noisy because that was what she was. Noisy the cat is now a beautiful, healthy, funny, (and still noisy) 3-legged cat. I love her dearly.”

Noisy the cat was found in a car. She was rescued and taken to the vet where they discovered that part of her leg was missing.

A tiny kitty named Trinity was born with only three legs unlike her 4-legged littermates. She was taken into the care of The Cat House on The Kings, no-cage, no-kill sanctuary for feral and abandoned cats and kittens. The little tabby girl has no idea that she has physical limitations. To her, she’s perfect.

“She’s about 7 weeks old and comes to us with cute 4-legged littermates. She was born this way… She is friendly, playful, quick to purr… Tripod (or tri-pawed) kittens make wonderful and loving pets and have absolutely no idea that they have physical limitations,” said The Cat House on Facebook.

It didn’t take long for little Trinity to find her perfect home. She will be greeted by her new big sister, a lovely ginger girl called Marmalady Lemieux, who is also a tripod.

The Cat House wrote on their Facebook yesterday: “Trinity sleeps soundly in the loving arms of her new mom, Laura…. Laura and Trinity are now settled in a local hotel until they both fly home tomorrow to British Columbia!”

Meet Refurb the three legged cat who accidentally raised nearly $1000 for charity. This is her story.

Refurb was rescued by a kind person from the Animal Humane Society in Minnesota. She was injured by a horse when she was only a month old and lost her back right leg from the accident. “The Humane Society did a great job with her and she recovered admirably well, so she’s Refurbished (aka Refurb). Just as good as a brand new model,” said the human, Akslfak.

Refurb gained fame on Imgur back in January 2013. People fell in love with her and her best friend Tycho the dog who came from the same rescue organization. She won a lot of people’s hearts with her silly and playful purrsonality.

But the best story of all is her “Refurbographs.” “One of the users [on Something Awful] joked that he’d pay for a Refurb autograph – just a little paw print or something. I replied, somewhat sarcastically, that if he were to donate $10 to his local animal shelter, post proof, and email me his address, I would mail him a Refurb autograph. I figured he wouldn’t do it. Less than a week later, there had been 35 donations from all over the US, and six different countries across four continents. Donations are still coming in, too,” the human wrote via Imgur.

“The overwhelmingly positive response, along with dozens of people offering to make donations after reading my story, is truly inspiring. I hope that everyone who still wants to help remembers that they have the power to do so, be it financially through donations, adopting an animal in need, or just by donating a few hours of their time to go to their local shelter and play with the cats and dogs. There’s a lot of abused and abandoned animals out there who need us, and spending an hour petting cats at a rescue seems like a better reward than being mailed a paw print any day,” he added.

She was featured on the front page of Imgur, and it was a total surprise to her human.

“I thought it was funny, so I relayed this story on the Something Awful forums just as an interesting anecdote. One of the users joked about whether the friend asked for an autograph, and another user responded jokingly that he’d pay for a Refurb autograph – just a little paw print or something. I replied somewhat sarcastically that if he were to donate $10 to his local animal shelter, post proof, and email me his address, I would mail him a Refurb autograph. I figured he wouldn’t do it,” the human said on imgur.

“Well, he actually went ahead and posted proof of a donation almost right away. Maybe he was seeing if I was serious… but he sent me his address and I told him I’d do it. At that point, a couple other users asked if I would send them a “Refurbograph” if they donated. ‘Sure, why the hell not?’ I thought, figuring that was the extent this would go to.”

“Less than a week later, there had been 35 donations from all over the US, and six different countries across four continents. Donations are still coming in, too.”

“As of now, $900 has been given to animal shelters and rescues all over the world. By strangers on the internet. Buying ‘autographs’ from my cat. Go ahead and re-read the last few sentences again, just to let the silliness of this set in. By the way, she put up with the paw print making like a champ.”

“Now I have to mail dozens of these out. To strangers. From the internet. This is by a wide margin the silliest thing that I have ever done, and yet I don’t feel that silly about having helped out some animals that need it. However, I will feel silly when I go to the post office with a postcard of my cat’s paw print, asking for postage to Australia.”

“People have been sending me pictures of the cards they’ve gotten

No one knows what exactly Poppy had gone through before her rescue, but this little furry fighter is so full of life, despite having only 3 legs.

“This is our little Poppy. She is a lucky little lady. Only about 5-6 months old… She came in with a huge injury to her radial nerve in her left front leg. She had come from a dangerous neighborhood in Baltimore-we don’t know if she is a victim of abuse or just bad luck. We gave her a couple of weeks to see if her leg would recover but the vet determined that the situation was deteriorating.”

They finally made the decision that was best for Poppy. “The decision was made to amputate… The leg was amputated at 5pm on Friday, and the kitten was already purring and hopping into my lap by 8:30pm the same night…. The surgery went very well and Poppy is comfortably recovering in foster care, happy to inspire anyone she can with her positive attitude.”

“She is such a loving girl that we are confident someone will fall in love very soon.” What Poppy needs now is her forever loving home. She is available for adoption.

Pythagoras is a tripod who lives life to the fullest. He was rescued and brought into a shelter with a broken leg. Though they weren’t able to keep his leg, his life was saved and Pythagoras had been a sweet kitten throughout the journey.

He doesn’t think he is any different from any other 4-legged animals. In fact, he runs the house like a king. Here are some of his recent photos. (More photos of Pythagoras)
