When Squirrelly the kitten was found, he was as tiny as a baby squirrel. A kind person named Anthony saw the little newborn kitten whose placenta was still attached. “He scooped him up and brought home,” said Carrie Anne. “My 3 year old daughter (Isobel) thought he was a baby squirrel and so named him ‘Squirrelly’.”

Their daughter Isobel fell in love with the little Squirrelly and offered to help. They taught Isobel to bottle feed the little one and she became a big help for her mother while her mother worked around the clock to nurse the kitten back to health.

Over the past year, Isobel has watched Squirrelly grow from a tiny baby to a handsome cat and provided a lot of TLC. The two have become inseparable friends.

Here is their beautiful friendship from the day Squirrelly was rescued to now.

Squirrelly was found as a newborn orphan kitten. He was brought to a loving home where he met Isobel, a 3 year old girl.

Little Bobby the kitty has something to be thankful for  – a warm and loving home, good food and people that love her. After she was born, she became an orphan and needed undivided attention from a caretaker in order to survive. She came to Kelli, a vet tech, who knew that she had to save the little bitty one, despite how demanding it would be to raise a baby kitten.

So it began… Bobby was given a second chance at life…

This is Bobby, an orphan baby. She is in good hands.

At 4 weeks old, Bobby has learned to eat on her own and started to venture out of her bed. “She is a brave and confident little babycat!”

Kelli brings Bobby to the vet clinic and she’s become a real clinic cat. “She continues to have everyone at the hospital wrapped around her itty bitty kitty paws. she is becoming quite the little clinic cat, running to greet clients whenever she gets the chance, ‘helping’ to recover our dog patients as they recover from anesthesia, and sometimes acting as a fill-in or diversion for people when we have to take their pet away for a few minutes to take x-rays or draw blood. she is such a joy!”

Tinycat is an orphan kitten who was just 4 weeks old when they found her. Zeus is a Great Dane, big in stature and kind at heart. When they met, Tinycat was just the size of the gentle giant’s paw. The big dog took in the little feline baby and became the brother she never had. (reddit)

A basset hound named Maggie found a tiny orphan ginger kitten in the roadside brush. She took him home and started caring for him as her own. “My dog found a kitten, brought (him) home and now thinks his her baby,” Maggie’s owner wrote via reddit.

“We live way out in the country and our dog is a basset hound so is always sniffing something out. Today, she found this little guy. We checked the whole area and there was no sign of its mom or other siblings. We think someone probably dumped it because it was in the roadside brush. He’s also very tolerant of people and other animals. He’s happily let our dog bath him and love on him all day! We estimate its about 4 weeks old. Poor thing was covered in minor cuts and has a big swollen eye.”

“Maggie was licking it to stimulate its bathroom needs but it’s actually been using the box fine. We’ve taken care of fleas, ear mites and cared for the grazes.”

They were initially looking for a good home for the kitten due to allergies, but eventually decided to keep the two together after seeing how inseparable they are together.

A cat mama took in an orphaned week-old pit bull puppy and started nursing him along with her four own kittens.

The newborn puppy named Noland came to Cleveland Animal Protective League after being rejected by his mother. He was just one day old at the time. “Pups that old without their mom… their survival rate is pretty iffy,” said Sharon Harvey of the Cleveland Animal Protective League via WEWS NewsChannel 5.

They decided to place the puppy in the care of a cat mother, Lurlene, hoping she and her litter would accept the little canine baby.

“Lurlene loves him. It’s so adorable,” Harvey said. The feline family welcomed Noland without hesitation. They spend about nine hours together every day, eating and sleeping like one big family.

The staff at the shelter also provide additional help to alleviate cat mama’s workload and make sure Noland gets adequate care.

“…even our cats are part of our lifesaving work! We should all be so welcoming to living creatures in need…. Thank you, Lurlene and family,” said Cleveland Animal Protective League via their Facebook page.

Three tiny 2-week-old kittens were found starving by the Cat House on the Kings after they lost their mother. Soon they discovered that one of the kittens named Bubbles came with “an injury of some sort” that would require surgery.

At such tender age, surgery is a very risky choice, but that was the only possible way to keep the tiny little guy alive. “After working so hard to bring him this far, we’re not ready to give up on him.”

So the next day, they took Bubbles to the operation room despite the risks. The fragile little bottle baby made it through. “Tammy (the fosterer) was able to get her to eat several times (after the surgery)… the rest of the time she stayed snug and warm on a heating pad in her little blanketed carrier. The vet said that all of her intestines had been entangled in a knot and he did his best to untangle them.”

One day after the surgery, Bubbles gained a much bigger appetite and was doing better by the minute.

It’s amazing how resilient the little kitten is despite her age. Bubbles is a little fighter who doesn’t give up on life.
