There were many sleepless nights after they rescued a baby kitten whose eyes hadn’t opened. They named him little Gatsby. “After 2 long weeks of bottle feeding this little guy, he’s now fat, happy and my new best friend,” the rescuer wrote via reddit.
“I found this kitten in the yard all alone,” they said. “The mom left this one when she moved the nest it was left in the open in my yard and I watched a cat come up to it and then walk away, assuming it was the mom.”
With a lot of love, Gatsby is thriving in his new family. “Little Gatsby is very content after some milk and a warm belly rub.”
This is when they found little Gatsby in the yard. The round of clock care began that night.
He was very tiny. They brought him blankets to keep him warm.
One of their dogs came to help too. The kitty was happy to get a bath.
Their other dog came to visit the kitty while he was taking a nap in his human’s shirt.
After days of feeding and caring, Gatsby was nursed back to health. This is him holding his human’s hand, feeling comfortable after some milk and a warm belly rub.
A tiny kitten was saved thanks to the firefighters from the Mentor Fire Department Station #5 who flushed a crying kitten out from an Ohio drain pipe. The rescue was incredible!
The kitten was lodged in a drain pipe underneath a concrete driveway unable to get out. “Upon arrival fire crews from Mentor Station # 5 found a small kitten stuck in a PVC pipe drain extending from a downspout on the building that was under the concrete drive. The kitten was about 15 feet in from the end of the PVC pipe which put the kitten in the pipe underneath the concrete. Mentor Station # 5 was able to finally flush the kitten out of the drain without event. Staff from Governor’s Port Independent Living took the kitten to the vet for evaluation,” Mentor Fire Department said.

Cashew is a three week old kitten abandoned at a PetSmart, but now he’s abandoned no more!
“Someone dropped him off at Petsmart Friday night and I couldn’t leave him there. He was COVERED in fleas, his fur matted with filth, and had an issue with his right eye. He didn’t cry when I held him, so I ended up holding him all night,” Cashew’s rescuer wrote via imgur.
Soon Cashew found himself in a place he calls home. “He’s the awesome one for coming into our lives. Since I’ve never hand-raised a kitten before, my vet and I are texting constantly. She said his blood work wouldn’t be conclusive until he was 12 weeks old. (crazy, right??) When she saw him on Saturday, she gave him a bath, de-worming, and some medication for his eye. Then we spent the next 20 minutes or so picking fleas off his tiny body. When I got home, we removed another 25. But he’s super strong and incredibly stubborn, lol. The vet says he’s very healthy,” she said via reddit.
Initially, her husband just wanted to foster the kitten since they already have another cat, but that quickly changed. “He was adamant about not keeping another cat, and just fostering him until he was old enough for adoption. He’s come around though. Cashew charmed him like crazy! We now have a second cat. :)”
Meet Cashew! The poor little guy was in need of help and a lot of love. A good Samaritan spotted him at a PetSmart and knew immediately that she had to save him.
“What a difference a day makes! After a trip to the vet, serious de-fleaing and a bath, he’s a new kitten! As of Sunday night, he is flea free.”
“At 10pm Saturday night, Cashew decided walking was the best thing ever. He was so weak on Friday he could barely lift his little body. On Sunday, he was grooming himself, studying everything, moving like a champ, and purring like mad.”
They introduced him to their family dog. “Cashew (cat) really wants to get at the dog. They’re both going to have to wait until he’s older.”
Cashew now has a cuddle buddy, Teddy!
“Look how big he’s getting after just 4 nights!! All he does is coo, purr, romp, eat, and poo. His favorite thing to do is bite ears and noses. He started ‘running’ and playing Tuesday night.”
Meet Adventure. He had a rough beginning to his life, but an act of kindness led him to a great human dad and a forever loving home.
David found Adventure in a plastic bag one night. He brought him home, fed him and made sure he was safe and well. “So last night I found this guy in a plastic bag. This morning I’m thinking yeah he can definitely stay here with us,” he wrote at Instagram.
The day after the rescue, he took the kitty to the vets and they found out that he was six weeks old. “Day 2 is a totally different kitten. Just been climbing on the book shelf doing his thing, ate loads of kitten food and been playing with his tail? I thought only dogs did that but Adventure, he breaks all the rules,” David added.

Meet Stitch! He’s a little fighter who survived some animal attack. Stitch was in poor shape when they found him, but the little guy did not give up.
“They guess him to be about 10 days old. He was taken to my vets with a nasty gash on his neck down to the muscle. He got cleaned up, stitched up, and antibiotics. His mother has refused to feed him since the attack because she is so traumatized also. My friend Julie is bottle feeding and fostering him until he’s 6 weeks old,” Carla writes.

A big guy found a tiny baby kitten while he was looking at a property. “So I guess I’m a mommy, now,” Oklahoma Hoss writes via reddit.
He shares the story: “The place just had a hard rain the night before and the ground was muddy. As we’re standing on what I guess is the floor of a deck that was going to be built, she cocks her head to one side and asks me if I heard something. I tell her no, but she’s got much better hearing than I do.
I head back around the side of the house to check on the car and when I come back she’s holding what think is a wet sock.
I get there and see that it’s a baby kitten, barely moving. It’s wet, cold, covered in filth and (later we discovered small maggots while cleaning her up. Fortunately, it doesn’t seem that were eating on her, but just on her. Judging by the smell, I’m thinking her mommy and other kitten siblings must have met an unfortunate end before we got there, and had we not, she’d have been quick to follow).
We scooped her up in panic mode, drove to the nearest Kroger and grabbed a can of cat formula and a bottle, (we’ve actually been in this situation before, and the little fighter from before is now a 3 year old gray terror that we love).
We rush the baby home, get the formula in the bottle, warm it up, clean the baby as best we can under a gentle, tepid water spray in the kitchen sink.
I’m a really big guy so my belly makes the perfect warm shelf to put her on. So I bottle fed her while she was there. She didn’t want to take the nipple at all, but lately, with recent feedings, she seems to understand what it’s for and goes for it with gusto.
She/or he is quite a little fighter. She’s eating well, sleeping hard, as is to be expected after the day she had yesterday, and seems to be putting on weight and getting stronger.
The only thing I’ve noticed is what seems to be a birth defect. Her back right foot is much larger than the other, as though it’s swolen or a birth defect. But it doesn’t seem to bother her or slow her down as she tries to climb all over me.”
Kitty has learned to use the bottle!
