Meet Andre the giant cat who weighs about 25 lbs! This rescue stray has not only become the mascot for a pet supply store, but he also has helped a lot of other kitties get adopted.

Andre the Giant Cat was found roaming around downtown Firplay, Colorado in November. “Within a month of us having him, people coming in to see him and to visit, the adoption rate for the rescue skyrocketed,” said Miyuki Takeda, owner of High Paw Pet Supplies.

Part of the store is dedicated to animal adoption. After Andre was adopted by the store, they received more than a dozen applications for adoption.

At the time, Andre weighed about 20 lbs. According to the vet, he was underweight and needed to stay at the shelter to get up to a healthy weight.

The store owner fell in love with Andre and decided that they would make Andre their store cat. “When he first came to us, he showed a lot of signs – he acts like a hybrid,” Takeda said.

“We think perhaps he has Savannah in him – those are huge cats,” Takeda added.

One of his first visits to the vet! They thought he was the biggest cat they had seen.

A stray cat who had been living in a burnt down house, came to a family nearby looking for help for her and her two little surprises!

About a month after the house burnt down, a ginger cat started showing up at the house next door looking for food. “(She) was extremely thin and covered in fleas, we couldnt beleive how friendly she was!” Luleymoon writes via YouTube. They named the cat Ginger.

“We took her to the vet to get de-flead and see if she had a microchip, unfortunately she didnt have one and after putting up flyers noone came for her, she also smelt strongly like smoke and had black ash on her so we guessed she was going into the burnt down house.

We noticed she had a swollen belly and engorged nipples, so we assumed she was pregnant, or had had kittens, but with no way of knowing there was not much we could do but make sure she was safe.

About 2 weeks later the house next door was due to be demolished the next day so we knew we had to keep Ginger in the house in case she was living in the burnt down house. We were waiting all day for her to arrive and when she finally did you can imagine our surprise when she brought in a little bundle of ginger joy!

We were a bit shaken up, but she made herself at home in my sister’s sock draw and nestled in, about an hour later when we weren’t looking she went outside and we had a few hours before dark so we weren’t too worried, but when she came back in she had ANOTHER baby! and this one had a badly infected eye.

I think its a small miracle that somehow she knew to bring her kittens into our home, which she had grown to trust, the very night before the demolition,” she adds.

They brought the furry family to foster care and helped them find a loving home that they so deserved!

A stray cat wandered into an upper Manhattan police station and stole the officers’ hearts.

The 34th precinct in Washington Heights tweeted: “This cat walked into the 34 Pct today. Officer Andrea DiNella would like to know if anyone is missing him #uptown.”

“He looks like he came from someone’s house. He was very clean, his paws were not long, he had a great disposition, didn’t bite. Very friendly,” Officer Andrea DiNella told NBC 4 New York.

She named the cat Frankie. When no one came to claim the cat, she took him to a local rescue group, Adore-a-Bullie Paws and Claws, that will help Frankie find a new forever home.

“Everybody loved him. We didn’t want to see him go,” said DiNella.

Minki the cat strayed her into the heart of a woman.

Jessica wrote: “In this video you can see me feeding the stray cat named “Minki”. She was just skin and bones when i first saw her and she was so shy and scared of me. It was like as if she had never seen a human before. She wouldn’t come near me, she always waited ’til i’d go down the stairs, only then she went to the plate and began to eat. I have been feeding her for 4 months now and (the day before this video) was the first time she let me pet her but as you can see in this video she still doesn’t trust me completely.”

This is after 4 months of feeding, Minki finally let her human friend pet her.

Two months later, this happened. Minki is stray no more:

Since they brought their rescue cat a new friend, these two kitties have been holding paws and snuggling like two peas in a pod.

“The best thing we’ve ever done for Bean was adopt Sydney,” reddit user Fox_ears wrote. “The tuxedo is Bean and the tabby is Sydney.”

“We found Bean as a stray 2 years ago and have had him as an only cat up until I found Sydney while volunteering with an animal shelter. I fell in love with her as soon as I saw her. I brought her home the next day thinking Bean would make a fuss but they were friends from the moment they met. He’s much more active now and seems much happier. They cuddle and play all day.”

Bean and Sydney have been best friends since the moment they met.

A stray cat decided to jump into a man’s car to stay warm. “This little guy climbed into my work van yesterday in downtown Detroit to stay warm. They choose you right?” said Jonny (via reddit).

This beautiful black cat settled himself in his work car and didn’t want to go. So Jonny asked around the neighborhood to see if the cat belonged to anyone, but couldn’t find any. “The guy whose house I was at said it had been outside his place meowing for about two days. Also the neighborhood I was in had about 4 houses that weren’t abandoned, and Vet checked for a microchip.”

Jonny knew by then that the kitty needed a home, so he decided to adopt him.
