It was a stormy day in California this January when a local Good Samaritan was alerted by what appeared to be cries coming from a tiny kitten.
Upon investigation, they found a little feline completely drenched in rain water, meowing desperately for his mom all alone. The mother cat was nowhere in sight, so they scooped up the kitten and brought him to safety.
The little fur baby was so thankful to be taken out of the rain and be dry and warm again. He began to purr in their arms.
Later, they contacted the Cat House on the Kings, a cat rescue and sanctuary in Parlier, California, hoping they could give the little fur buddy some help and a better future.

Little Winston was just around four weeks old when he came to the Cat House on the Kings.

No one knows exactly how the kitten ended up in the storm all by himself. "Sometimes mom cats are in the process of moving kittens and get scared off. Sometimes they only have one kitten. Sometimes kittens wander off," Harvie Schreiber of Cat House on the Kings told Love Meow.
"Whenever people find one kitten, we always ask them to be sure and check for littermates."

Little Winston is now warm and fed. He is so happy to be loved that he always has his purr motor in high gear.
"He is currently doing well in foster care with one of our staff members who is giving him non-stop love, cuddles and care," Schreiber told Love Meow.

Once Winston is big enough, old enough, and has been neutered, tested, vaccinated, etc., he will be up for adoption. If you would like to support their rescue efforts, click here to see how you can help. Follow the Cat House on the Kings on Facebook.
