A Furiend to Lean on

These two feral cats are spotted on a University campus in Shanghai. They follow each other wherever they go. They share food and warmth and lean on one another for love and comfort according to Jianfu. There is not a moment that they aren’t seen together. What an inspiring pair!

  2. Anne says:

These are two beautiful cats! Even though they are feral, they are apparently eating well, they certainly don’t look undenourished.

  3. Patricia Brown says:

love conquers all woes. they may not have a home, but do have each other.

  4. Leigh-Ann says:

They’re definitely a male and female pair… Soon they’ll be snuggling with a litter of kittens, too. I’d love to adopt the pair to ensure their safety.

  5. Melodi says:

Oh they are lovely, I suspect Mother-Daughter or sibling pair; from the coloring there’s a 90 percent or greater chance that both are female.

  6. Sheryl says:

They are adorable!! Great photos too! I’m so glad they have each other.

  7. Avril says:

That is so adorable thats friendship for you bless them x

  8. Mika says:

D’awwwww! The Calico is more than likely a female. I wonder if they are family or maybe even a mated pair… Epic cuteness in any case. Made me smile. :3

Does anyone know if these cats have a caretaker or have been spayed/neutered?

Friends leaning on each other. They’re glued to one another :) How cute and precious! I hope they’re always together no matter what happens. Just like us humans they all need a companion :’)

  19. Debbie Jean says:

Don’t these gorgeous cats have a home? I can’t bear the thought of them outside with no home for warmth and food with lots of love.

  20. Deb says:

We could all learn a lesson from these beautiful buddy cats!

  21. Barb H. says:

My first thought…after oh, how sweet…is that neither cat has a tipped ear, indicating they’ve been spayed/neutered. They both look healthy and unscathed. The tabby has a big tomcat neck. Hopefully, no kittens in their future!

  22. Dee says:

This is a very special pair. I hope they are both about the same age because I would worry is one died the other one would mourn themself to death.

  23. Shelly Lyon says:

    What darlings.

  24. Sandra L. says:

    so adorable!

  27. Hanne says:

Just love to see love like that <3 <3 <3

  28. Hi all…..this is sooooo very sweet. Totally reminds me of a close friend of mine. We are holding each other UP right now as did a close friend of many years and I did in the 1990s in Indianapolis. God bless all and keep us all…and may we all learn the lessons of the feral, homeless kitties! Happy holidays!

  29. Alex says:

They could be sisters, or even mother and daughter. When supplies are in abundance, it is not unheardof for family connections to remain intact past typical developmental periods. Let’s hope these ladies remain inseparable; maybe there’s hope for us all!

  30. Oh Dog! That’s like the ferals that hang out in our neighborhood. One’s a tortie and the male is a long-haired tux. They are best buds also.

  31. Karen says:

Oh, they’re so beautiful and adorable!

  32. sharon stringer says:

What GORGEOUS cats!!They are so sweet just love the photos simply beautiful.

  33. Melcah Swan says:

so cute, how inseparable they are… love them both ^_^

  34. Cathy says:

These two are beautiful and it’s wonderful that they have each other. I’ve seen cats pair up before in my old neighborhood and in fact took a pair in, one all black the other a tuxedo, both male. They were being abused by their so- called owners.
It makes me ill to think how many strays there are out in the world that end up tortured and killed because people are not only sick but just assume animals don’t have feelings, clearly they (the humans) are wrong! These two show that aniimals do have feelings!

  35. NAN says:

That is so wonderful and warming to see! We had a pair like that on our property here a few years ago. We called them ‘Porcupine(he was a big orange cat) and ‘Pumpkin'(orange, grey and white long haired female). They were ALWAYS together with tails entwined. At the time we had quite a few cats that we were feeding along with them. Then one day, I guess, someone called to complain and traps were set and all the cats were gone. I still haven’t gotten over it.

  36. Kate says:

I want to adopt them both! So cute!

  37. Katie says:

So cute. Im glad they look well fed

  38. Susan Blackman says:

They do look lovely together but wish they had a home. I’m wondering if the tabby has low vision.

  39. kel says:

So adorable!! Cats are THE best!!

  40. Ellen says:

Such wonderful buddies! I hope they can find a home together. :)

  41. April says:

Great photos of two beautiful kitties. I just want to hug & kiss their sweet little faces!

  42. Liz says:

Me too, they deserve a loving home together. They obviously adore one another and i would hate to see them separated. They are just gorgeous.

  43. Vilander says:

haha male female, they are not friends. :) campus is going to have a few litters soon. The one in the left the think brown is male, and active one with black predominant is female.

  44. Theresa says:

    Too cute!

  45. nnua says:

Great friendship!!! In particular I find the tabby’s stocky physique particularly cute & charming ^-^
