Virgil and his three siblings were turned into animal control one day. He was missing parts of his back legs and no one knew exactly what happened.
“One rescue group refused to take the one bottle baby who needed them the most, the one missing parts of his back legs, and said they would only take the three ‘normal’ ones. Eva immediately stepped in and said we’ll take him but only if he has a sibling for company. That’s how I got Virgil and his sister Xena,” said Lisa.
Little Virgil’s uneven legs have never been an issue for the little guy. As soon as his legs healed up, he started running and hopping just like any other kittens. If Virgil could speak human language, he would probably tell us “I’m fine, thank you.”
Not a tail. That’s Virgil’s right leg

Virgil is totally adorable!! It’s wonderful that he doesn’t let his disability slow him down and that he found humans who appreciate just how special he is.
Go Virgil! Great this special kitty found a special human to love him for who he is!!
A rescue agency who wants only “perfect” kittens isn’t a rescue agency at all. On the bright side, Virgil is obviously a tough little cutie pie and well-loved
That is exactly what I was thinking when I read that. How sad that they only wanted ‘normal’…I’d take a ‘special’ kitty like this sweetie any day:)
Agreed entirely! No so called rescue group that refuses a kitty in need is a true rescue group!
What a special little guy! I’m so happy he’s gotten a happy ending. Way to go Virgil!!!
Virgil is a fighter, and seems to be doing remarkably well, you go Virgil!!
Virgil is a sweetie!! Too bad his hoomans didn’t take his sister.
A friend of mine has a similar “handicapped” kitty and she managed to teach him how to play football!. Completely true!!.
Sweet boy, glad his legs healed up. If he could speak, he could tell you how it happened. Hope xena gets homed soon.
Dear little Virgil. Best wishes. and special thanks to his new family. He needs his sister! PLEASE???
I had a three-legged cat, and he got around like a champ. Many long years of funny walking to Virgil!
Thank you for featuring this remarkable little tiger. He’s going by Topolino now, but his dads still call him Virgil now and then! Love you Love Meow!
Congrats to Virgil! Another slam dunk rescue for North Brooklyn Cats! They do amazing work and never walk away from what some might consider a challenge! They just see it as another kitten that needs some care and a home:)
You should send this to Special Olympics–the kids & adults will get such a kick out of this! I had a wonderful cat for > 17 yrs. named Julian Virgil Canfield.
The pic of him lying on his back, blissed out, is the best indicator I know of a happy, relaxed kitty! So glad he has a great forever home. He doesn’t realize he’s handicapped! He is perfect and obviously very happy.
what a little trooper! love Virgil!
way cool
Virgil is a very handsome kitty!!!!!!!! I hope his sister Xena finds her loving hoomans soon!!!
Virgil is a very beautiful
My grandma went through something like this, pauly was born with only part of his leg though, and it doesn’t slow him down at all!
