Starving, Pregnant Stray Gets a Second Chance

This is what love can do to change the life of a cat. Daisy was found starving and pregnant on the streets back in November last year. Just “last weekend she met her new owner, and within five minutes she’d settled in,” said reddit user hyperkahler.

“I was hoping she’d find a match like this. She had a very snuggly but relaxed personality. She wouldn’t knock things over or climb all over things… She really just wanted to be near someone, preferably held or on their lap… Her new owner is in her 90s (and her daughter did the adoption and will help her if needed)…. None of this would have been possible without the help of the rescue organization Project MEOW. They’re fantastic and have helped me through all the ins and outs of cat rescue.”

They are overjoyed to see Daisy now with people who love her unconditionally. “…often the super-playful younger kitties get snapped up and the more sedate older ones get left.” Now Daisy has someone to snuggle with and a warm lap to sit on.

Beautiful. Seems like a perfect match. Good for the daughter for helping her mother, at her advanced age, find a pet, and also for making sure the cat is taken care of if her mother dies before the cat goes. Just because you’re getting older it doesn’t seem right not to have the comfort of a pet just because you don’t know when you’ll be leaving the planet. I have a hard time imagining my older years w/out any cats.

I see so many people today disparaging cats. I believe all Gods creatures were created for a reason. My wife and I have spent a great deal of time and money on the feral colony that lives across the street from us BUT we have been repaid a thousand fold by the love and caring returned by these loving beings. Even on the battlefield a cat (or dog) can connect to the heart of man and it is worth all we can give back to them. If mankind could be as giving as our animal counterparts our world would be a much nicer place to live. As we get older each of us sometimes need a hand, Thank God for you who give your time and love.
This is a perfect example of two loving beings brought together by a helping hand.
