Blistered Whiskers

Nominated by Samantha F: Blistered Whiskers is a no-kill, non-profit, 501c3, tax exempt organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and adoption of street kittens.

Cat Adoption Team (CAT)

Nominated by Shaunalei H: Cat-Adoption-Team (CAT) is the shelter around here locally that helps find homes for lts of our feline friends. A feral cat had kittens in my moms yard and they are going to spay/neuter them and place them in loving home for her so that they don't end up becoming feral cats. They hold adoption fairs at Petsmart every weekend and always have kitties available to look at inside Petsmart during the week.

Mutts and Mitts

Nominated by Sylvia: There is an animal rescue group that has been around for a sort period of time and it can use lots of help with raising funds. I believe the lady who started it all goes by the name of April Biggs. I have grown very fond of this rescue group when I saw the sad and pathetic photo of a dog which had been recently pulled from a high kill shelter down south (apparently there are MANY in this part of the U.S. Ever since that day, I have grown very fond of muttsandmitts. A good percentage of the dogs under its care suffer from heartworm and we know how expensive it is to treat heartworm. This is MY heartfelt reason for choosing to nominate www.muttsandmitts.com.

Rocky Mountain Alley Cat Alliance

Nominated by Tomoko K: I use GoodSearch to support Rocky Mountain Alley Cat Alliance here in Denver and would love to nominate them. These fine folks will do low cost spay and neuter for low income pet parents and stray cat trap/neuter/release. I have two cats that live in heated dogloos on my porch that I was able to get fixed thanks to RMACA.

SCAT Street Cat Rescue

Nominated by Iffat A.

Spay the Strays

Nominated by Jennifer: I'd love to nominate a great shelter, that not only tries to find homes for abandoned cats but works to reduce the cat population through TNR. I am a volunteer for this organization and I can tell you that the founder, Anita, could really use A) the money..no matter how little it is and B) the morale boost knowing other people care.

The Animal Rescue and Protection Society, Inc. (TARPS)

Nominated by Mary D: I would like to nominate TARPS The Animal Rescue and Protection Society, Inc. They are a tiny no-kill, all volunteer, all donation small animal shelter in Chester, VT. They are a 501(c)(3) non-profit. They are primarily a cat shelter (they sometimes take in ferrets and rabbits). They never turn away sick, injured or pregnant cats, no matter how full the shelter is. They have special foster homes for orphaned kittens. They also have a feral sanctuary, where they rehabilitate feral cats that will except human contact or home ferals that prefer just other cats as companions.

The Cat Protection Society

Nominated by Monique R.: I would like to nominate this local shelter in Eustis Florida. We have adopted a wonderful kitty from this shelter and we visit frequently to give some lovin' to the other kitties we have no room for in our home.
